i think in theory it should give you the smallest of power gains ie 1bhp but certainly nothing noticable, the added noise however will probably make it feel faster than it was before

good luck with this, would be interesting to see how it goes, as some have said deep pockets will be needed to achieve the 250 - 200 bhp your looking for without boost, but then again youve got an aston so your pockets are deeper than most and if your sharing the costs out between 3 or 4 of you...

ive had the very same problem but it wasnt with an omp one, it was as you say about 2mm too short, so i just drilled both the holes on either end of the brace a tiny bit bigger, job done

i experienced something similar and it turned out somehow the top of the spring had jumped over the "cap" that compresses it, god knows how it managed that but luckily i was changing the springs anyway so didnt matter, worth just taking off your arch liner and having a look before taking it...

Just a couple of pics to show how much difference xenons make the front end of a clio, these were taking a few weeks ago but i never got round to posting them up. Unfortuantely the headlight height adjustment plug is different so i just havent attatched it and made sure they are level myself...
