It goes into the back of the original headunit mate (where the cd changer goes in), then I've just ran it behind the controls and out the grommet hole in that compartment

This is weird!
A while back i had a dodgy UCH (lights flickering lots of noise, alarm going crazy) and so bought a second hand one (including ecu and fobs) this worked fine but i wanted all the originals together.
So Id planned to take it to renault tomorrow to get fixed so i replaced it all...
yeah id get em done to be honest, even if he had them done at 65k its still 30k ago. loud noise rattly will be the dephaser more than likely. flat spots i have no idea
just before i go crazy on this.
i should start off with a lower number wet and dry paper then work my way up or vice versa, spedning about 2-3 hours then an hour polishing with some scratch x polish (or similar)
Ive had my 172 for a few months now and like the 182 wheels ive got on it at the minute, tyres are PE2s also which is a bonus.

I trust my local mechanic and he's a neighbour too. I still took my car to birchdown to get the belts done. reason being, I asked for advice and listened. I let my mechanic do everything else (to my car). just not that.
