Depends what alarm it is.
Is it a standard Renault alarm?
or
And aftermarket alarm....
Also if you want to use it against any insurance policy, they will want proof of installation by a VSIB installer.
Yep perfectly fine.
Only difference you will find the airbags from the 172/182 with cruise control will have a cut out in place! (if you remove the buttons)
Only reason there are sooo many is because the very slight accident pretty much writes them off due to repair costs!
Just replacing the panels is enought to write the car off. Even tho it may have only been a prang!
Best way to know is to get a full accident report on what happened.
They only covered 4 modifications when i was with them thats why i had to leave them.
But even when i rang them up to add my lowering springs at the time...... this is how the convo went:
Me: Yes i need to add a modification please
Advisor: No problem, let me load up the screen
Me: Ok...
When they fully come away in the inside there pretty much useless.
Its a new headlamp casing needed which is about £185+VAT from Renault.
There pretty much impossible to get them to "pop" back onto the ball joints.
If they replace a unit - the warrenty only extens from 3 months of change.
The replacement units are all refurbished units.
Mine was replaced in Dec.... so had 3 months from then.
Just outside of my "3 month" warrenty my units now taken a death trip :@
Now they want to charge me to...
They are a proper biatch!!
You need to get some force on the clips. You will get 1 off easily, which brings the airbag out slightly. This seems like you have doen the trick but no, the other side will now be very tight.
I removed the steering column surround then used a large flat blade...
^^^ Just ordered mine.
My CTR one has given up on reception.... so hopefully this will work!
Will be here on Wed lol :D
Thanks for the part number! They still didnt have a clue what i wanted.
Its harsh as i found out.
Ive had my own policy since day 1....
Did not mod my first car i had for 3 years.
Got my clio then started changing bits slowly....even after 4 years of driving insurance was costly.
Just keeps adding up and up, but made sure i was legal all the way thru :)
The front you can get from anywhere really.
The rear tho you have 2 options:
1) From Renault - its the complete blade/plastic part £6
2) Buy a blade from anywhere and cut it to the same size as the rear then remove the old one carefully an replace with new. £3-5
Ive seen many DCi's without alarms.... just the standard Ren Imob which is Cat 2
iirc the alarms were only fitted to the RS models when they arrived here...
Its under the car.
1) Jack up the car
2) Place it on axel stands etc... for safety
3) Remove heatsheild just behind the handbrake handle
4) This will show the handbrake mechanism.
5) Adjust the 2 individual (iirc) nuts to slacken or tighten the handbrake.
**Be carefull not to over-do...
