    Doom!

Yey! Finished it just now - nailed the final boss on my 3rd attempt. Thank f*ck for that - I can have 80GB of SSD space back now. DOOM - you could have been so epic. You looked great, brilliant back drops and good audio. But what will I walk away from this game remembering the most? Low ammo...

    Battlefield 1

So have I. Makes feck all difference to me in this, though. [emoji1]

    Battlefield 1

I wish it was that straight-forward. Some of the best rounds I've had in FPSs have been where I've been totally and utterly schooled by the other team. But something isn't right in BF1. Having bought and played and pumped god-knows how many hours into every iteration since its creation with...

Clio Extreme 4 won't start after fuel ran out!!

Same here. My 182 did that - chucked a new battery on it and all was good again.

Rob's 1995 Impreza WRX STI Type RA

Sound Sounds great! I really would have to fight the urge with the engine out to respray the engine-bay. I couldn't help it!

Rob's 1995 Impreza WRX STI Type RA

That engine bay is remarkably free of tin-worm for a 22-year-old Jap car!

    Battlefield 1

Well, I came SO close to installing BF1 at the weekend. Something just doesn't work with me and the game. I don't know if it's lag, the game engine or something else. I jumped in the middle of a round and finished with a K/D of 1/9. The next one wasn't much better - I think I got 6 kills in...

A VAG car? Me? The insult!!!! :tongueout:

Garage to get my belts done in/near York?

Not quite m8. I had my aux kit replaced at the 36k service interval by them and then went back a few years later on an RR day when the car was north of 60k and had already had its cambelt changed by then. I also appreciate garages that seem 'interested' in you and your car. I don't mean smarmy...

    My New VXR8

I'm not a fan of spindly wheels at all - but they really suit that, imo.

New 182 owner, does anyone know the car?

If you can't get a code reader yourself - bite the bullet and book it in with your local Renault dealership. They will be able to tell you what's wrong (along with a complete shopping list of faults) for about £25-£30. That's how I found out about my upstream oxygen sensor being on the blink...

Garage to get my belts done in/near York?

Loads of positive feedback about these, but I doubt I'd go again. The biggest issue I had was that I'd arranged a day to work over at the Leeds depot while my car was having the auxiliary belt and 36k service done. I'd booked this weeks in advance - phoned and confirmed with them two days prior...

Lego Technic Mercedes Benz Arocs 3245. Kit 42043

GLWS - I'd be interested to know what you get for it as I was considering selling mine when I've finished it off.

    Anyone here a windows wizard?

Was the Windows installation a clean one? Or one that came pre-built with the PC - with a million-and-one bits of manufacturer specific app crap? I really wouldn't be using a Mac for high-end gaming. Low-end stuff, maybe. But don't expect to be playing the likes of BF1 in high detail.

I notice you get 3 years engineer support with one of these too! Pretty impressive stuff...

On a serious note m8 - for the kind of work you do, would that kind of card really improve your workload? Would your work necessarily have to be 'nVidia friendly' with what was being written?

    New PC build, advise please

:) New tech - enterprise spec. Although way out of the reach of 99% of PC gamers - there will be the odd one out there that will buy one of those. Personally, I'd like to see how Windows 10 and a couple of games perform when installed on that.

If you were going for speed bragging rights, purely - you should have pre-ordered one of these..... ;) https://www.scan.co.uk/products/4tb-intel-dc-p3608-aic-ssd-hhhl-pcie-30-(x8)-nvme-20nm-mlc-het-nand-5000mb-s-read-3000mb-s-write-850

    Oh yeah - 1TBs aren't cheap. 512GB aren't too bad though... https://www.scan.co.uk/products/512gb-sandisk-x400-m2-(22x80)-ssd-sata-iii-6gb-s-15mm-read-540mb-s-write-520mb-s-935k-75k-iops-retai

    New PC build, advise please

Definitely. On my last reformat, I tried both. Two 7,200rpm SATAs in RAID0 and a single SSD. The single SSD trounced the dual SATAs in everything - loading times for Windows, launching times of the games itself, etc. If your new motherboard can support M.2 drives - go for one of those instead...
