Mine uses even more but thats cos the sump plug was loose! :(

The engine is fine, there was still 2-3 litres of oil in it when I switched it off, as luckily i had topped up the oil the day before. I made sure that no one tried to start the engine again. Renault will let me know 2day whats happening.

Yup to be fair they have sorted out all the warranty issues ive had previously so it shouldnt be a prob. (Snapped rear disk brake, 2 split steering wheel grips, faulty cd player....) ;) Hopefully everything should be ok. I was just thinking about getting another car too.... :(

Oh and if the engine is damaged then surely renault have the honour the warranty as the sump plug wasnt done up properly. :|

I wasnt hammering it and had made sure the engine was fully warmed up as always before giving it any right foot action. The AA guy found the sump plug in the undertray under the engine so it had only just fallen out. Im going to ask them to steam clean the engine and under the car cos there...

I kerbed my front alloy to fcu* the other week. Ended up having to buy a spare from renault at £125 as I didnt have another wheel. So easy to do if your not paying attention. Maybe worth getting the tracking checked just to make sure, as that looks like quite a heavy impact. Fraser

I dont see the point in doing huge amounts of mods which add up to more than the car is worth. Its still a clio at the end of the day. Buy a 350Z or something with the cash your going to blow on a clio.

Just goes to show you what us renaultsport owners put up with, as long as it puts a smile on our faces! The cars are cheaply made but improvements have to be made to the design, manufacture and production of the cars. Hopefully the 197 will readdress this. If not I wont be buying another one.

5w 40 is whats recommended by renault. I wouldnt bother putting any other type of oil in as it will increase engine wear.

Bigger rolling radius so your car will be slower and not handle as well. It will also crash and bang over any sort of bump.

Hey ppl ive just got a quote from privelege insurance of £464 with 6 years ncb, my mum added to it with £250 excess. Its also covered for use with my business. The best bit is that Im only 24. What are everyone elses quotes like and do they think this is a good deal? Cheers Fraser
