think you're mixing info up a bit. You drill small holes in tubes that are to have both ends sealed, so you don't get a pressure/gas build up inside the tube when finalising a weld. Without a vent, the weld can sometimes blow out.
I think what they'll be advising of, is that these holes will be...
Not a lot wrong with a Cat C if it's fixed well. Just means you buy cheap and sell cheap. It only bothers people who care more about image than substance, or don't REALLY understand cars
you can't really tell when they're not working right sadly. had a scenic that caused me a huge headache and took a gamble on a new pedal, which fixed it
£900!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! did you get vaseline with that???
they've bummed you dry for that labour charge. it's 2.5-3 hours tops, maybe an hour on top for other bits at a push, not 8!!!! and they've charged £16 more that a main dealer for the dephaser pulley, used the wrong grade oil (what's the 1.5...
dunno. There was a note on the system about 4 years ago about a fault, but I think it got left on there by mistake. They're literally as good as brand new
I run them on my car, and I wouldn't fit anything else unless only brand new was available (172 cup is new only)
ph1 are £135.53, ph2 172/182/182 cup are £151.61
you need to look at time aswell as miles. aux is every 3 years of 36k, whichever is first, cambelt is every 5 years, or 72k whichever comes first.
I would assume the aux belt was changed at 46k anyway to be honest, it should have been done again at the same time as the cambelt
check them for wear. If the guides need replacing, you have to re-cut the valve seats to get them aligned centrally. If you don't you risk side loading the valve, and that's when they break heads off
you can't fit a decent induction length and filter with the slam panel in there. If you compromise like that, you're as good as fitting them for the sake of saying you have them, rather than for the improvement they will make
it's crap. My card machine for example, has worked reliably from 3g for almost 2 years, but in the last month, it takes sometimes as long as 10 minutes to find the network, then puts up signal strength warnings. On my phone it seems to cycle constantly from no data signal to 5 bars of HSDPA
was he too tight to pay the extra for the center silencer?
The mild steel system is center silenced, and 2.25 inch, not 2.5
I recommend these a lot, but the fact it's mild steel puts people off for some reason
you're ok on stock internals to about 0.5bar (7.5psi) you could probably do more, but give yourself a margin of safety. That should still see you around the 240-250bhp area
Its been on mine for about 8k, but I had the equivalent on my mk1 Clio for over 2 years and it was still perfect when I stripped the car. Metal quality is great. I'm also running about 210bhp, so its not restrictive at all
