I'm missing something simple here but I don't know what:
If I ping a website and get the IP and put the ip into a web browser it should still load the webpage correct?
eg: I ping google.co.uk get a IP of 216.239.59.104 I paste that into web browser it loads google.
But when I ping a...
I've got a few clients using windows mobiles and push email. While roaming the UK everything is working ok but when the clients are somewhere like Germany they stop getting the email? Is there something I'm missing on the setup? or is it just down to O2 to sort out?
Most of that info can be logged on the CRM though per customer basis through records. If i look up one customer I can see all the information about that customer - including network information, equipment that is installed and total history of work carried out.
Depends on your CRM and job - all our faults and jobs are logged on to the system when the customer calls or a quote is processed, it then goes through the system with a jobsheet etc, we also sign on and off the job which logs time with PDA's. All changes are noted then it goes through to...
I couldn't find the website - but I have a copy to hand:
1. Place your Windows XP CD in your cd-rom and start your computer (it’s assumed here that your XP CD is bootable – as it should be - and that you have your bios set to boot from CD)
2. Keep your eye on the screen messages for booting...
You can reset the password using a security flaw in XP - you have to reboot off cd and do a repair install and you can access the accounts menu with a nifty shortcut - I'll see if I can find link for you.
Yeah, I did a full audit of the premises just before Christmas and their previous IT guy has left it in a right mess - I've got pages and pages of stuff that needs doing. I was shocked to find no firewall at all except for windows basic one and no proper anti-virus etc - they host exchange and...
I powered it down for an hour bud - when I connected it up again it wouldn't work - I change it to dhcp instead of static after powering it down for a second time and it give a different IP to the static they have everything pointed to. It seemed that static IP would only pair with that mac address?
ok VM where about as helpful as a chocolate fireguard!
I've managed a work around. Luckily I can spoof mac addresses on the Firewall so I just copied the servers WAN NIC mac address and voila connected!
yeah it works currently modem to server - but they have no firewall in place - so I've come in to install the firewall but it won't work.
I have logged into the modem and it shows that the static ip is linked to the mac address of the server! I take it this is the problem? do I need to get VM...
I got a feeling its PPPOE then - but does windows server support PPOE then? as this is how its connected at the moment- if so where are the settings located? sorry not had much experience with cable modems.
I'm trying to install a hardware firewall on a network but I've got stuck and can't get it to work.
Setup:
Cable modem (ip: 192.168.100.1) plugs into Server WAN NIC which has two ip addresses on the card 192.168.100.2 and 77.77.77.77 (companys static ip - this is just sample) and a gateway...
This particular virus was bundled with a hidden process named “TDSSserv.sys” It’s a serviceserver that re-directs all software updates to 127.0.0.1 (your own computer) so that nothing will update.
What you need to do is go to Start, Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, Show Hidden...
yes it would - this could mean you have the worst case, in which case i bet you have problems installing that programme.
The virus installs a device in device manager hidden! you can't delete it because it just reinstalls itself next time you boot but you disable it reboot and then install...
