    Engine/gearbox mounts for a 172 Cup (Ph2)- looking for recommendations/advice

Hah, just realised I said four, then listed five. In any case, thank you- so there are just the three mounts then? I think I know where to look for most of that. It's just that Powerflex don't do the metal part of the dogbone (they mostly just do the bushes) and I'm thinking of replacing the...

    Engine/gearbox mounts for a 172 Cup (Ph2)- looking for recommendations/advice

So, just to confirm I need what, four mounts? Left and right upper engine mounts, upper and lower gearbox mounts and the (twisted) dog bone mount? Part of the problem is that nobody seems to be using a consistent set of names for any of the parts. the "dog bone" gets called the "rear engine...

    Engine/gearbox mounts for a 172 Cup (Ph2)- looking for recommendations/advice

It's more or less the same engine isn't it? I've been looking at Renault Parts Direct but I can't find the Kangoo engine mounts on there though I did find these: http://renaultpartsdirect.co.uk/products/Renault-Clio-172-%7B47%7D-182-Engine-Mount-%28O%7B47%7DS%29.html...

    Engine/gearbox mounts for a 172 Cup (Ph2)- looking for recommendations/advice

Thanks for the response! The car's my daily driver, so I don't want something that's going to shake the car to pieces. I do appreciate a solid feeling from the car, and I am looking for something durable, but I'm not after anything particularly exotic at the moment. I probably wouldn't be...

    Engine/gearbox mounts for a 172 Cup (Ph2)- looking for recommendations/advice

I'm looking to replace my engine and gearbox mounts as soon as possible, but the problem is I have no idea which ones to get. I mean, I've done a bit of looking online and I think there are essentially three mounts I need? I think? I just have no idea who is reputable, which parts will last...

South East Christmas Night Out - 5th Dec - London

There should be, I distinctly remember at least two cameras being waved in our direction. Or, rather, one phone-standing-in-as-a-camera and one Actual F**king Camera With Proper F**king Lenses On It And Everything. As for how I'm doing, well, honestly I was kinda annoyed that I had to leave...

South East Christmas Night Out - 5th Dec - London

Oh, and just so people can recognise me when I get there I'll be the 6'3" guy with glasses and loads of hair. Probably wearing combat trousers and a death metal T-shirt. I also have a beard that I should probably get around to removing one of these days, as it's more annoying than cool.

South East Christmas Night Out - 5th Dec - London

I do plan to be there. I'm free pretty much all evening so I can do dinner and drinks if that's happening- just let me know when to arrive where and I should be able to sort something out.

South East Christmas Night Out - 5th Dec - London

I find this degree of apparent local celebrity to be strange and slightly unsettling... But yes, I reckon I should be able to make this event. Dinner and drinks sounds good to me, though I will probably need to be able to catch the last train back to Chatham. It's a mudhole, but it's the one...

Yeah, I know it's not really a proper spoiler but it's also not a proper splitter is it? I'd feel even sillier calling it that.

Ph2 172 Cup front chin spoiler

My current place of work is in an industrial unit on a farm. One of the actual farmer types has seen fit to hide a chunk of a steel gate with a couple of vertical nubs on it in the long grass next to the access road, with the net upshot that when pulling over to let a truck past just now I lost...

    Mechanical keyboard appreciation...

Yeah, the part of the switch that changes colour depending on switch type is the riser- the central pillar bit that the key clips onto. A lot of keyboard snobs look down on the old Alps black switches, but I've never seen anything wrong with them and as you say the AT102W board is extremely...

    Mechanical keyboard appreciation...

Hm, yeah. Looks like a Dell AT102W, we used to get a lot of those at my old work. As I recall they use Alps Black switches usually, which are tactile but non-clicky (but not reliably so- some blacks do click for no discernible reason though they still lack the "click plate" that produces the...

    Mechanical keyboard appreciation...

Heh, I got lucky. I used to work at a charity that dealt with second-hand IT kit, all of my "classic" boards came from the bins there. I used to have a couple of Dell Alps boards as well, but I ended up selling them off as they weren't particularly spectacular.

    Mechanical keyboard appreciation...

At home I have an old-school IBM Model M. At work I'm still using a sh*tty rubberdome, but I have a semi-functional (and incidentally ultra-rare) Alps buckling spring keyboard that I've been meaning to bolt-mod. If I was to use a mech board at work though, it'd probably have to be a new board...

[Jul 12, 2015] CANCELLED: ClioSport Dyno Day (West Thurrock)

I might be able to put myself down for the dyno at this rate, if it helps. Family stuff seems to be on the way to sorting itself out. Failing that, we could still do something- grab lunch or summat? I've not met any other CSers yet (only had the car a couple of months so far) so it would seem...
