I wouldn't be put off by the demo - the final game is better!
Forza 2 isn't easy - it will take time to get into and practice. Once you start completing laps flawlessly you feel so proud of yourself.
well depends on your budget tbh - as a designer I always want the best we can afford - the faster the better for productivity.
8 core xenons are pretty dam fast - but get as much Ram as you can min 2gig.
Try removing your USB root drivers from your device manager? and restart and it should reinstall the drivers USB root hub drivers - or download the all in one drivers for your motherboard. If it doesn't work its possible it is defo a hardware problem!
I'm a PC guy through and through at home for gaming and stuff - but for my design work and Pre-press you really can't beat a mac! just feels strange on a PC.
m8 it takes about ten seconds to convert! you can even use quarks shortcuts in indesign (change the preferences).
A few things will annoy you at first but once you start using it fully its great although not that stable with PDF's!! hopefully fixed in CS3.
Or like quark click the lttle arrow top right of layout box and select keep pages together! then drag page next to the other page.
So it can be done :)

So doesn't really matter how wide you pipe is its still the same amount of data being sent. If anything its the quality of the connection that makes the difference.
