Dont bother mate. People just wont accept that fact on here. Ive tired many times.
Good luck with the new car.
Anything is possible depending on how much you wanna spend. A couple of guys on here are running 1.2s with 172 conversions and one guy (J3ned) has a mk2 with a vag 1.8T running 300bhp.
reason= i love undercover cars (see below!)

a modern (and heavy) 1.6 Astra I can understand but I used to have a late mk2 Paxo VTR and never had real problems with Clio 1.2 16vs. Its 1.6 (90bhp) Vs 1.2 (75bhp) plus the Saxo is lighter. Id put a VTRs performance between a 1.4 and 1.6 tbh. Also a pug (106 or 206) quiksilver is 1.4 8v 75bhp...
Better off selling and buying a faster motor mate.
eg. You can get a mk1 172 for £4,500 now and mk2s are going for £6500. Once you starting modding a 1.2 your gonna put the insurance up anyway. Might as well just sell it and buy a 172 (or something with similar performance).
You could spend...
The MAD gene counts for about 100bhp! Ive had teenage nutters in 1.2 Corsas giving me a hard time.
Even if you blow them away on the straight they still come back for more! lol
Although Im pretty sure Freds is the fastest 1.2 16v in the club.
The 182 hasnt got a spare (nor has the 172 Cup - although it does have the well) both 182s and 172 Cup have foam cans
Its not the back exhaust that gives the 182 extra power over the 172 its the manifold.
Silvervisions, clear side repeaters, 172/182 Cup spoilers (if theyre easy to get there) would look great.
CTR aerial is a neat touch too.
Do the standard discs look tiny on them wheels?
Im betting OZ in too hot for an open I/K lol!

yeah but it comes with the nicest wheels and the best colour. well thats why i got mine.
That why I bought it too but imo a black 172 with turinis is just as nice
172 Cups only had Climate control as an option towards the end of 2003. Along with silver paint and a 6 disc changer. The 182 Cups have standard AC like the lower clios.
The Cup is slighty lower and stiffer, has a wider track due to the turinis and is 80kg lighter than full fat. Less sound...
