Just spotted this over on the piston heads forums.
They are holding a show at the same time as the autosport international show and are putting together a display of iconic cars for display. they are looking for a Clio V6 to add to the current lineup.

Has anybody tried them for brake parts?
When i had my saxo i upgraded the brakes to bigger discs and calipers (from a berlingo van) and i bought the discs and pads from these guys. They are very cheap and the service was excellent. The pads where mintex, can't remember the discs but they where...
Don't skimp on the subframes. the reason that you need the right ones is so that the seat fits correctly to the car.
Imagine if you buy a 'universal subframe' and have an accident (awful thing to say. sorry). if your seat comes lose them it could be a BIG problem.
In my opinion if you can't...
These things sounds amazing and look brilliant. The Brakes on them are MASSIVE.
If i had that kind of money to spend on a car i don't think i would buy one though (as much as i want one!!)
This seem like a good discussion;
As far as i'm aware 4 pots are better than standard 2 pot because it means that more pressure can be applied to the discs over a larger area of the pad. It also means that the disc is being used more effectively as the pressure is more even across the whole...
Re: Viewing a Ph2 172 FF This Afternoon
check the exhaust. its likely to be on the way out (standard items are very thin and rust easily)
If there sounds like a ball rolling around at the back when you drive it the rear shocks might be going (not expensive to replace. £45 from renault)
Check...
Ive thought about those as well.
I think i've narrowed it down to michelin PE2 ,F1 GSD3 and Conti sport contact.
Now i've just got to find somewhere that has them in !
Ok after reading peoples comments about these i think i might give them a miss.
They do see good value though £65 per corner fitted.
Think i will have to wait to get some PE2's
I'm due some new tyres and have wondered about these tyres.
Has anybody used them?
Michelin PE2's seem to be hard to get at the moment so i'm looking at alternatives
i would say you did pay a bit to much.
I got my cup for £6000, it was completley standard, 18'000 miles and had full service history.
But thats irrelevant. if your happy with it then it doesn't matter.
The gearbox on mine feels good, not knotchy and the throw on the stick is nice and close, not like stirring soup.
If you slam it into gear alot then its gonna break.
As has been mentioned the standard exhaust is crap (its too thin) and will rust and fall off. but the OEM ones are more...
I've had my 172 cup for about 1 month now.
Its fantastic. nothing for the price is going to keep up with it, brakes are good (no ABS on cups so you can really play with them)
Engine is good, it gets to 5000 and BANG, your gone.
Handling is excellent, grip is good (tyre dependent), gearbox...
It was a good day dispite the weather. must remember not to set off so early next time!!
Good to meet Dave and Rob.
There was really no grip on the circuit, one of the formula renault boys spun straight after the pit exit on his out lap !!!
The clio cup cars are very nice though. they sound...
Just save for a decent set of coilovers.
There is no way you will ever fully exploit the current setup on your clio, might as well wait for the good stuff then really enjoy it.
Spring just means a bit lower, bit stiffer.
Coilovers are tuneable. you dont want to get the springs on then think...
If i was in your shoes i would save some more cash and get some coilovers.
lowering the car will make it a harsher ride regardless of what springs you use. some will be better than others though.
Lower car = shorter damper = less damper travel = harder ride
springs that are tuned for the...
i would say so. springs generally deal with long compressions (speed bumps etc) dampers the quick bumps.
Springs with standard dampers will be softer than coilovers
Get the car jacked up, start it up and get somebody to cover the exhaust at the back with an old cloth or something so that it blocks it. you will be able to hear/feel if it is blowing.
If it is, clean the area up a bit, and put some exhaust sealant putty round the place its blowing at...
I've just bought a 172 cup, and cancelled the insurance on my current car to pay for the insurance on this.
But...i forgot to renew the tax on the old car before i cancelled the insurance, stupid i know but it just slipped my mind.
Can you tax a car with temporary insurance?
Every place i...
I had a VTR and have just got a 172 cup.
the saxo feels alot lower, and the steering is lighter but it just doesn't have the same kind of power that the cup has.
The power of the cup is brilliant, effortless i would say. i didn't have all the toys in the saxo (ABS, aircon, leather, etc) so i...
