Re: Eds ph1 172 - The soon to be controversial project!
Right, car is all done!
Raised the ride height a bit, and found the rear shocks were set up completely wrong. one side was on 10 clicks from soft, the other 23!!!! So sorted that, and also had the car corner weighted whilst I was at it...
had one on my cup.
as with all the ktec exhausts its a bit boomy when accelerating on the motorway, but nothing OTT. My tailpipe turned orange within 3 months too!
Re: Eds ph1 172 - The soon to be controversial project!
Rob, yep mark did indeed set them up.
The fronts are fantastic, turn in is great, and the front feels very planted, but on hard cornering the rear bounces all over the place and feels quite unstable. Kinda thinking it may be due to the...
Re: Eds ph1 172 - The soon to be controversial project!
not a clue how low it is to be honest. rears are about 10mm up from fully down, and the fronts are about midway. handling isnt great at this ride height though, and it'll be changing tomorrow

Re: Eds ph1 172 - The soon to be controversial project!
Right, a few updates.
All service bits acquired, so will get on and do everything over the next week or so :)
Car is also going into X-Sport to have the coilovers adjusted and checked, as the rear end handling seems way way off!
Also...
as above really, seeing as i'm starting to do bits and pieces under the bonnet and certain things require certain torque settings, I thought i'd invest in a torque wrench
So to those of you who have one, where'd you get it from and how much did it set you back?
many thanks in advance

Re: Eds ph1 172 - The soon to be controversial project!
plans are to do a few trackdays, hence worrying about the 16s, but think i may well go for them :)
just need to free up the coilovers now!
Re: Eds ph1 172 - The soon to be controversial project!
Need some opinions from people please :)
Am wanting to get some pro-race 1.2s, and am undecided between 15s ad 16s. will 16s look too big on a ph1?
add me to the list please :)
will rack my brains on some photo places. lepe country park has a few nice spots, or lymington perhaps? or is that too far out?
Re: Eds ph1 172 - The soon to be controversial project!
rs1-172 nope no spacers. want something with a wider track though, dont like the tucked look. have had to raise it to stop myself from bottoming out everywhere, and handling has improved a little
danz - its getting a full clean/detail...
Re: Eds ph1 172 - The soon to be controversial project!
ph2s are for sale now anyways, so no need to worry.
need to sort the few dents on the car out and give her a good machine polish too
Re: Eds ph1 172 - The soon to be controversial project!
Right, turns out the side repeaters i bought werent the ones i was after :( so need to find the correct ones!
Raised the rear about 10mm yesterday, a car was catching on anything and everything (i have a steep driveway and have to travel...
i take it you've seen the road to the airfield recently? if its the one i'm thinking of anyway! (just checked the link and it is) not sure i'd make it down there lol
Would definitely be interested though :D
Hi guys,
have been offered a pair of used R888s (4mm left) in the medium compound. What should I be looking at paying for them? theyre the 195/50s
cheers

yep thats right for the fronts, for the rears, the Isofix bar is 17mm, then i think its a T40 torx head to remove the two bolts holding the rear bench on :D
