Get one in mint condition. Idealy at about 80-90k id say. Thats when its likely to have had a clutch/cambelt and any other bits and bobs. Gearbox is expensive to fix so make sure its nice and tight. Get one with fsh too. Lower mielage one is good but you have to wait for the things to start...
Id stick with me valver tbh. The 172/182 is better for everyday stuff and its fast but if your a hardcore country lane basher get a valver. You get so much feedback from them, they sound feckin awesome and on some twistys you wont get left behind by a 172/182 either. Only on the long straights...

I had the 172 wheels on mine. Do you think it f**ks up the handling? I hated them for that. They look good though but i like good handling and a faster car. Heres a pic of me phone...
