It would definitely be interesting to see exactly how many there are. After all with under 1200 UK cars in existence there should be a fair proportion on here.
If they lay down the stuff they have been this summer at the Pod, you wont find wheelspin a problem. If you were running a paddle clutch youd basically just experiment to find the revs at which you could dump the clutch and get the tyres to bite. On a normal clutch youll have to be a bit less...
I dont think it matters that much which side of the car you drive. Its only a hassle driving a left hooker over here because you cant see a bloody thing when overtaking. Doesnt matter in motorsport as theres not any particular side of the road you need to stay on.
I dont know whether for...
haha back to the old school. Well the game has moved on thats for sure. Ill come along for my three runs at the Pod this Saturday then. And I better be in the 13s or Im not gonna be happy!

Ive debated trans loss and rolling road figures more times than Id care to recall. My advice is - quarter mile it and then youll know how it compares. Rolling road figures vary from one set of rollers to another, from one day to another, from one apparently identical car to another. As an...
LOL GPS is the future, everyone knows you cant trust a dial speedo. My wifes Yaris T-Sport supposedly does a ton in fairly short order when youre on the dual carriageway - until side by side comparison with my Clio and GPS as well shows that its actually more like 92mph. When youre doing 145mph...
145 mph on the autobahn on the way to the Nurburgring last year. And thats a 100% REAL time, measured with GPS - the speedo was showing 140mph which is a genuine 145 because of my longer gearing (Williams box and 17" rims).
Im aiming for 150mph this year LOL
Sounds about right to be honest. The differences may be down to one measurement being 0-100kph and the other being 0-60mph. If you dont want to lie to yourself Id take the higher figure. My old RT probably ran 0-60 in around 11 seconds which isnt too shabby really.
LOL IMHO a valvers too much of a car at 17! Still, if youre used to it and havent crashed it then why not, as long as you can afford the insurance.
I had a 1.0 Fiesta at that age, and even by my mid twenties was only up to a Clio 1.4 RT...then again, now in my thirties I drive the fastest car...
When mine was standard it used to run 16s, as did most other peoples valvers. Occasionally youd run a 15.9 but rarely below that for a standard one. Thats at Santa Pod.
LOL well I had it all spot on. I sent off the copy and they messed up the layout and muddled up the people! And I found bits they had changed around had mistakes in the grammar and syntax which I most certainly would not have let slip through the net...
This months Used Car Buyer mag (August 2004 issue) has the Ultimate Guide to the Clio, covering models up to the present. Those of you who were at the photoshoot last month are featured, although there are a couple of omissions, and some of my text was slightly altered (in particular if more...
No no what they want to do is forget about more power - traction is the problem, so the gap between 182 and V6 should be filled by a 4WD Clio running say 250bhp. Then to avoid outdoing the V6, the V6 should be supercharged to around 350bhp.
Look at the new Focus on the front of Autocar this...
LOL you soft Scotsmen, poor diddums cant make it to York? :D
Before I start taking the piss, bear in mind that its in jest and I have no axe to grind with Scotland or its fine inhabitants.:)
Mate, I have gone to York at least once a year for the last few years to quarter mile, just because...
b******s eh Wayne? Anyway, wheres mine? I bought a 93 valver 5 years ago, doesnt that count? Ooops its not a RenaultSport LOL
Glad were getting proper coverage at last.
Unless theyve got some kind of wicked paint that never wears off and will take knocks and chips without a mark on it, then paint is no good at all for car wheels. If theyre recommending you dont powder coat, then either theyre not very good at powdercoating (powder coat is where you heat up the...
White always looks good on a red car. But dont even think about painting them - that is the biggest bodge in the world. Wheels should NEVER be painted, always powder coated.
The Cup pack wheels are IMHO, rank. Colour right, design WRONG. They look like cheap Halfords wheeltrims. Apart from that I cant see why anyone would prefer a Cup over a 182, surely having all the toys and a car thats just as fast is about as good as it gets?
I thought most track days stuck to:I
If someone wants to overtake, stay on the right and indicate to let them pass on the left, regardless of racing line.
Dont overtake on corners
But what exactly was the R-Sport stuff supposed to be? Some seats and a roll cage and no doubt a bit of carbon effect dash trim? I dont see what the big deal is...if the R-Sport ECU is out then just use that or one out of a crashed 182 (there must be some around by now!) along with a better...
Lots of us have had one Clio after another, sometimes two or three. Admin team especially. Ive never owned more than one Clio at a time, but I have owned a couple of fast cars simultaneously, currently my turbo Clio and a 200SX. I do keep thinking of buying a Williams as an everyday motor and...
Hmmmm, Id say I agree that York is faster although not for the same reason that Mr Jealous on Scoobynet says. York has the advantage for road cars that it has a choice of launch zones, depending on whether you are running road tyres or slicks. As there is a very close correlation between time...
