The offer seems to be pretty much permenant. I'm going to pop y this afternoon. I've only got about £20 - £25, so was thinking shampoo, polish, and a chamois (if that's how you spell it!).
What do you think - should I be getting wax instead of polish?
It's not coming out of the headlight washers is it (you should be able to see where it's run down from them? Mine had that for a little bit and then fixed itself a couple of months later....
I find that if you can sit at some kind of constant speed it's better than going up and down. i.e. sitting at 80 on the motorway for 50 miles seems to be a lot more economic than being stuck behind traffic doing between 30 and 40 on an A road.
It just me?
172's been my fastest, but best? No.
Best has got be the an Audi A3 2.0TDI. Not much in the way of steering/brake feel, etc, etc, but it was such a nice car to be in. With a long commute it was always comfy, economical, fast, had a great stereo. unfortunately it was a company car, and I had to...
On my way through Banbury to work today saw:
Black 182 (heading towards Thorpe Way),
Flame Red 172 (near JayBee motors),
Megane 225 (opposite Banatynes gym),
Blue 182 (Adderbury crossroads).
Also saw a baked bean 182 parked up on South Bar last night.
Anyone on here?
When I'm easing off the power but not braking (for example when approacing traffic light/ junction in town), I get a really loud metallic rattle coming from my 172. This is generally from 2000-2750 revs and only occurs when easing off, not during accelaration.
It sounds like somthing thin a...
Morning all,
I've recently noticed that my brakes don't seem to be biting as early on the pedal travel as they used, so thought I'd check the fluid level as I had new pads 4 months ago.
However, having check where the level indicator should be (according to the handbook), I seem to be...
That seems to be the experience I'm getting with mine. How much would I be looking at to get bushes replaced, and should it just be suspension, or do I need to do something with engine mounts as well...?
Hey all,
Any one know if front suspension on a 172 can become - i.e. not connected to the bodywork (or wherever it attaches) tightly?
My suspension doesn't feel like it's doing a very good job on rough roads, but it seems to be ok when I test it whilst the car's stationary.
Are there any...
I bought mine from Gamestatin, and they specifically gave me instructions when I bought it on what to do in the event of 3 red lights!
Can you imagine buying a car and them saying "Oh, but the way, the engine's sometime cut out suddenly, so just come back to us if it does".
Put it on auto, then press the little A/C button (furthest left of the bottom four) then you can bugger about with speed and temerature to your hearts content.
I have the opposite problem with mine, it only seems to come on when it feels like it, not when the car's steaming up. :S
Was wondering what it was doing parked outside? If JayBee were doing some work on it (god forbid!) then surely they shouldv'e had it in their lock up bit?
That's exactly how mine feels - what I find weird is that I can be crawling slowly up to some traffic lights, on what seems to be reasonably good quality tarmac, and and still seems like it's running over little lumps in the road.. Strange.
Thanks all, I'm glad it's not just being being paranoid!
Will dampers deteriorate over this kind of mileage even if they aren't leaking then? When should I be considering replacing them (not that I can afford it after having my cambelt done :( )
How does everyone feel about the ride quality of their 172's (those still standard)? I'm trying to gauge opinion, as I still don't think mine feels right - it's as though it reacts to bumps in the road that aren't there sometimes. Do you think your 172 rides better or worse than an average...
