Morning all,
Just a quick one - has anyone else found the their right rear wheel arch has rubbed a bit. I noticed it the other day on mine when I was having a nose under the back of the car, and it's worn right through in 1 point (sorry, no picture available). The hand brake pulls the rear...
FInally got round to reading latest copy of evo - did anyone else notice the Clio 197 in their 'Million Pound Garage' feature? I think it was Jonathan Palmer who chose it, which has got to count for something with all you 197 haters ;)
You need to have each one as a different layer. Then, save for web, and one of the tick boxes should say 'animate'. You can choose the lenght of time between each frame too. I think that's about it, but I haven't got photoshop in front of me at the moment...

In November my 172's going to be 5 years old. Now from everything I've seen on the servicing schedule's I guess I'm going to need the cambelt doing
What other things's are going to need doing? Should I just be having the full 70K service done, even though it's only done about 30K...
Morning all,
Right, I've thought for ages that my ride quality is rubbish, even on what appear to be smooth roads. The car's been into Renault, who took it out (probably to thrash it) and got it on the lift, but said there's nothing wrong. Can't see any snapped springs or leaking dampers.
I...
Didn't realise you lived at Upper Heyford - I used to be in Steeple Aston before I moved to Banbury. Once went to get my tyres changed at the place on the base (think they serve QEK?) and there was a load of VW/Audi group stuff, including the RS6 that they give to Frank Lampard, just sat with...
That could be the same guy I saw yesterday as I was leaving work. He was coming out of Adderbury, heading towards Aynho. Always thought the 197 looking a bit dumpy in the pictures, but on the road it looked pretty good.
Glad to hear someone being sensible finally. We've all been far too spoilt as the Renaultsports have come down in price as the model gets older. With a new shape we're essentially back to the start as far as pricing goes. Give it 2 years, and I'm sure we'll find the standard model has a little...
I rather fancy a 197 now that I've seen some more pics. The extra money has got to be worth it for a steering wheel that I can actually move closer to me!
Just had a quick look at the Renaultsport 197 specs, and it comes with a speed limiter (as standard!). Genius......
Actually, these days it's probably actually quite useful.
Is this a standard fit niggle? My steering wheel seems to have a bit of play in it when you turn, so doesn't turn the front wheels straight away when you turn it - most noticable when not moving forwards...
There also sounds (or feels) like there's a little 'knock' just after I turn the wheel...
Just checked for a quote online with Tesco, and their registration checking thing threw out my car as a bottom of the range 1.2! At first I thought I'd just got a really good quote for my 172 :D
So, is this just their website being a bit stupid and only picking up on it being a Renault, or...
Was just having a nose around under my dash (just sort of above the pedals) and found a couple of unconnected electrical connection blocks. Both grey, both female. I'm guessing their problem part of a Clio standard loom that isn't used on my 172 - maybe headlamp adjustment and crusies control...
Heading through Banbury this morning saw a white van with bloody great Renaultsport stickers front and back. Anyone got any idea what all this might be about - have we got a specialist round here that I've completely missed?
No, where you lift up the boot floor to get to the spare wheel, there's normally a layer of foam attached to it (the boot floor, not the spare wheel.... :D ).
Okay, so I pulled out the sound deadening foamy stuff from under the boot floor a while ago, as it had become rather damp and manky. Only just got round to thinking about replacing it - do you reckon I can order it and then bond to underside of the floor, or should I just head done to Wickes and...
I always fancied one of those Litchfield Imports Integras.... Preferably in white - reckon they look superb.
Which reminds me: wouldn't Renault make a killing if they rebodied the 182 chassis with a little coupe shape. That way it'd be a funky little Honda CRX style coupe, with a lower centre...
Why don't you have some fun a string them along a bit. Start asking stupid questions and tell that you need lots of completely uneccasery information...
Why don't they do on 4x4's what they did with the Rols Royce Phantom. The dipped beam doesn't come from from the 'main' headlights, it's actually from the ones set lower in the grill. The big main headlights are only used for full beam. That way it doesn't dazzle people despite being about 12...
Why would they put a completly different handbrake design on the Renault Sport, but not the other new Clios? This sounds like a big uneccasery engineering thing for absolutely no gain.
A glass section at the rear to make it more fuel efficient? :S Not sure how that would work. Maybe it was a...
I think they go for white cars on the continent more because of the climate. Go to Spain and bloody loads of them, which is probably why a lot of old shape Ibiza's are white.
Hmm, I wonder if you can get 182's over there....
