thats the car there that is breaking..owner must not be able to sell it?
im actually thinking of changing my exhaust altogether...would rather a wee raspy exhaust that deep drone lol. i thought about removing the center section as its blowing anyway(as always with these rs192's)
if you know for sure that it isnt the ICV/vacuum leak/inlet manifold gaskets then i would recommend a code reader plugged in :)..like riley said the list could be endless if not
sounds like the same problem my mate is having with his mk5 golf gt (different car i know but same symptoms) he got it plugged in to a code reader and came up a faulty MAF sensor. Do you have or know of anyone with a code reader?

Only place you need to look mate :)...great prices, quick delivery and a really nice guy..he will help you out no bother with what you need.
i mentioned earlier in the post :)... my mate is a pipe welder/fabricator.. Hes willing to help me with the dowpipe and intercooler pipes so all il need to pay for is the pipework which he gets a trade prices through his work. He previously made an exhaust for one of my old 106's.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
ahh i see..makes sense now. Thanks for answering all my questions. Will be keeping an eye on the thread and hopefully the next time im down at knockhill il see it :)
One way i looked at it was if i was to spend £1k on n/a upgrades i could get a realistic figure of 195bhp? if i was to spend £1k on a LBT i think a realistic figure would be 215ish?
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Was it a big job to get it to fit? did it come off the turbo and down the exhaust tunnel area ok? or is this where the customizing is needed?
i know ive read as many threads on turbo 1*2s that i could find on here. I know there has been clios that have had failure from been turbod but theres also been ones that run fine. If i was running a lbt around 6-7psi and the mapping was good i see no reason for the engine not to last long...
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
is the miltek pipe ment for a 225? im curious about the downpipe since it seems to be one of the parts that will need some major customizing.
My dads cousin owns a garage in inverness and he does live remapping so again its not to much of a problem. My brother was running an intercooler, decat, induction, throttle inlet pipe and my brother seen good gains after the remap and he was only charged £200. I know mapping is expensive as ive...
if i go down this route im far away from doing the internals lol...
Id be after a low boost conversion around 6/7psi..ive calcalated it to cost me around £700 with a fare bit of help from a mate who is a pipe welder/fabricator to make up the downpipe and intercooler pipes.
My brother had an a3...
if i can source the megane parts at a reasonable price i might consider a low boost conversion.. ive written up a list of ever part i need just pricing bits up at the moment.
thanks for the input guys..
I now know that the megane exhaust manifold will fit directly to the head and there is room for the turbo.
The model of turbo used if any one is curious is the td04 14t.
