Mines been playing up for a few weeks now. Seems to be the display - often get a scrambled display but the voice alerts etc still work. Getting worse now though - cant do updates - just get the Origin logo when I plug it into the PC then nothing more - just freezes.
Can I buy a new unit...
You could do it yourself easily enough. Depends whether you can be bothered really.
Front splitter dead easy, buy one off here for around £60 and fit it yourself in half an hour.
Rear spoiler, cost about £150, then needs spraying. Pretty easy to fit I believe.
I wish I could find the thread describing peoples first reactions to the Mk2 Phase 2 Clio (the current model that we all know and love). It was almost universally disliked.
Most of us bought one.
LOL, he wants £500 just to give me an estimate.
And thats if I supply my own oil ;)
I hope the Vee doesnt have any cambelts. Or if it does I hope theyre located by the battery at the front where I can get at them. Surely it cant be a harder job than fitting those Silvervisions?
How hard...
A Renault main dealer will charge you about £355 for a cambelt change on a 1.4 :o (according to my local dealer anyway). I reckon you should be looking at about half that at the most.
The ABS does a self-test when you pull off after starting the car. The gearbox is notorious for a clunk when engaging first gear too.
Nothing to worry about.
yeah mine never did it after the ECU change either come to think of it. I dont think the people who programmed the R-Sport ECU were too worried about cold-start emissions (round of applause!).
Flying along in a high gear, dip clutch and change down (keep clutch pressed) blip throttle and engage lower gear and release clutch.
Saves your clutch but is slower (youll notice I didnt get a chance to brake during that sequence!).
Just slam it in for Christs sake!
