I went from a mk1 1.2 8v to my 1.6, took a little bit of getting used to, but after nearly 2 years, i want something faster. Definately a good car though, great brakes, and even on standard suspension I find it great fun to thrash around B roads.
Hey,does anyone know wheres best to get new headlight bulbs from?? one of my main beam bulbs has packed up, are the headlights on a 1.6rsi the same as those on ph1 172's?? Is it an easy fix to swap them?? cheers:dapprove:
^^ But they sound sooooo cool!!!! why have an air line in your garage if you cant run round with air guns making noises like you hear on the telly!!!!:rasp:
If youve got a haynes manual, there should be a torque setting in there. If youve not got access to a torque wrench, id just tighten them up as much as possible using the brace (no scaffold pole) id have thought it'd be pretty tough to overtorque a wheel nut with the brace.
Id advertise it in Max power, Revs, or whatever mags are popular with the fibreglass and neon brigade. Fair do's to you for doing a decent job on it though, you see some right half arsed efforts knocking about sometimes!! You just need to hold out for someone who really likes the mods as well as...
Yep, that'd be the fella. cant think why someone would want one unless they were racing, or they were doing a lot of track days and getting oil starvation in long corners, even then, youd try a baffled sump first. Or i would ......
Id have thought itd be a pressurized system, kinda like a hydraulic system, with its own pump, id have thought the pump would start running on the first click of the ignition, thus getting oil to the engine before it cranks. i think.....
hmm... well the plan is to get it up on 4 axle stands so i can re-fit the exhaust with some new mounts, so i need a fair bit of lift to get under the centre section. could probably do with borrowing a garages pit or lift for an afternoon really, but its not gonna happen!!!
Sweet, until recently, id been using the scissor jack to get the car up, before putting it on axle stands (on the beams) however, the scissor jack doesnt give enough lift to get the axle stands above their lowest setting, so ive got hold of a trolley jack to get the car higher on the stands...
Hey, i know edde posted a guide to jacking mk2 clios in the guide section, but from what i can see, to jack a front corner up using a trolley jack, id be putting the cup of the jack under the body of the car, i tried this on my old (mk1) clio and wound up buckling the floor. on the rear, id have...
Bump?? Could really do with some advice here, ive had a whole new exhaust, manifold to tailpipe, and ive had to replace the rear mount twice in three months, somethings amiss, and i dont trust the muppets that fitted my rear section with my car again!!! i ordered what i though was a full set of...
Does anyone have any pics of a full set of exhaust mounts for a 1.6 16v (mk2ph1) just so i know which ones go where, my current rubbers are being reinforced with cable ties, and the rear section hits the rear beam round right hand bends!!! replacement required methinks!!!!:dapprove:
not being funny, but i get the pedal bouncing off the bottom of my foot when coming into a roundabout a bit hot, thing is, id hit the same roundabout at the same speed in my old clio ( mk1 ph1 ) and have no bother, just whack the pedal into the carpet!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think the drivers aids have...
