If you can believe it we've had over a month of no issues or problems !!! ?
Car was with Gary Spooner last week to sort the rear discs and pads. Now with (hopefully) all the gremlins sorted I can focus on the paint. Gary also owns a PB
After the paint is done it might have to make way for...
My PMS breather plate is letting coolant through into the Oil catch tank making a nice Mayo. Its a 172 engine so the original breather vented out the far LHS. Iv sealed all the obvious points that separate the large hole to the cams. No coolant is making its way into the block. I can see 2...
The Recaro CS direct from Recaro are/were 2k per seat !
The Trendlines from a Trophy will bolt in with out anything extra. The Airbag light will come on but that can be turned off.
The CS would need the base mounts and then a Custom Fabricated mount to align with the bolt holes. It has been...
Managed to fix the throttle body issue only for the coil pack wiring to pack up. Found it had been rubbing and was shorting out on the bracket. Repaired the damage and tied it out the way.
Managed to get up to Goodwood for a quick test drive.
Been having a spot of bad luck with the car recently. Its not gone into storage yet but that may change fairly soon. Started off the other weekend by running out of Fuel on the M3 ! 45mins later the old man had turned up with a jerry can of V-Power. Ever since the remap with the 197 injectors...
Myself and Tim are.
I honestly can't remember the last time i organised something. Tim keeps on top of the SRR events.
Il step aside if anyone wants to throw their hat in the ring.
My area was covering the south of Hampshire/West Sussex. Tim's was North Hampshire and into Berkshire.
When rebuilding the suspension it looks like I orderd them from ECP without thinking. Looking back at the paperwork they were all of £18 each! The new ones are from Lemfodder. The quality difference is quite noticeable.
Nope me neither ! My mechanic best mate has only seen it a few times...
Had a slight issue last weekend !
Thankfully happened at 3 MPH coming out of a parking spot !!! No lasting damage to the car other than a tyre getting a rather large cut in the tread when the bodywork dropped on to it ! Lucky to say the least as we were going to be heading up to London ...
So a couple of weekends ago we headed back up to EFI and Chris to have the 197 Injectors fitted and re-mapped accordingly. Was secretly hoping to crack the 200bhp mark.... And it did :) The first run Chris made came out at 201 but the AFR at the top end was out a little. After a few 199.8-9 runs...
Cars being used all the time. Put nearly 1k in it since mapping. Even with not being able to fully rev it out it's loads quicker due to the added torque :)
Have got hold of a set of 197 injectors ready to be fitted and mappedagain by Chris on the 8th September. Can't wait !!
Nope no showsfor...
Car was in for mapping Sunday :)
Maxed out the injectors ? 197.3 BHP/146.6lbft. Was 28 degrees inside.
The AFR's are not the tidiest and its running lean at the top end. Chris stopped what he was doing and said to come back with some 197 injectors :) Will be going back asap as you can...
RS2 is fully in and running :)
Managed to get my Girlfriend to help and we had it cracked within 4hours. Its all a bit tight where the old battery used to be but it worked out well i think. The battery joins are a mess as the original won't pull any further to mount it nicely. Thinking of...
The RS2 is on :) Not currently finished but it has been fired up and held at a steady RPM so im happy its not letting in any more air than intended. Just need to tidy up the odds and sods then its ready for a little easy driving ready for mapping on the 8th of July. :)
Had the well over due cam belt replaced this week by Gary @ The Clio Man in Littlehampton. Also fitted the engine mounts for me. Loads of pictures got sent over just how out the timing was on the previous belt change. Tipex was everywhere ! Gary reported the inlet looked liked someone had tried...
After an amazing time in America at the beginning of March the Clio is back out of storage :)
Crossed off a bucket list item whilst out in Arizona :)
The Clio was taken out the day after we returned. It fired up straight away :) Been driving around now quite a bit getting used to it all...
