Due for a new phone so thinking of the 11 Max on the iphone upgrade program because next years are supposed to be pretty interesting too.
Also hoping they announce more about AppleTV+...
Thread resurrection!
Interested to know who on here is serious about their home cinema, or at least knows the different between OLED and CRT...
What kind of setups are people running?
TV, receiver, surround sound, set-top box?
and a picture!
LG OLED65C8
Logitech z906 5.1 surround sound
Apple TV
Been SIM only for the past 4 years but think i'm finally going back to the dark side when the iPhone 11 comes out, some of the above deals seem too good to be true so fingers crossed they continue until october!
Finger crossed!
Ideally i'd take internet with them and TV with Sky to get UHD sports channels.
IIRC Virgin is fibre to the premise then broken down to copper to each flat.
I think Virgin Media have some kind of exclusivity deal on the fibre in our building because no one else can offer anything other than ADSL speeds, slightly annoying considering the flats opposite have just got HyperOptic.
Not complaining as the speed isn't too bad but would be nice to have...
Ignoring the subjective looks, they’re quality, great battery life, work great for calls every day and as above, seamless connection to iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Added benefit, Apple replaced both my earpieces for free after 3 years as the battery life was getting bad.
Yeh, simply said we were leaving because Sky offered Sky Sports cheaper and they offered basically any of the 'new customer' deals we wanted.
Yeh, Virgin Mobile uses EE although no word yet on when that will be extended to include EE 5G
The Virgin Ultimate Oomph bundle is worth a look if you want everything, we had a basic package with sky sports and bt sport added on and it ended up being the same price to switch to ultimate oomph after our introductory discount ran out.
Its £99 for 500mb fibre, every tv channel they have inc...
i looked into these in the past but when looking at the Amazon reviews there were an alarming number saying how it took like a minute for the notification to come through, by which time the visitor/deliveryman had long gone, even when the door bell was really close to the router.
anyone had an...
1Password is by far the best one i've used, plugins work really well for chrome, plus integration on iOS.
KeePass and LastPass are also worth considering if 1Password isn't to your liking.
Apple Watch is mid cycle so probably another 6 months before S5.
I’d defo look at a Series 4, they’re so much nicer to user than S0-3 with the bigger screen and spec bump. As above the ECG app is handy and they all have GPS so good for running and cycling without your phone.
I picked up a 65 C8 last week and even out the box I thought it was amazing (although I was coming from HD LCD).
Need to spend some time acquiring 4K content and tinker with the settings but it’s just so amazing.
I think my X was down to 91% after 12 months so got it replaced for £25 under the discounted battery replacement scheme, still at 100% now after 3 months
I played the beta for the first one as I had really liked the look of it and being a big fan of Tom Clancy games (Splinter Cell in particular), but i found that it wasn’t that great, and was really meant to be played as part of a clan not solo which limited how much I could play it.
Hope the...
I know it’s not 65 but the LG OLED55B8 is on Hughes for £1100, been looking at it for myself as time’s come to move to 4K

IIRC each hub can handle 50 lights so yeh just keep adding bulbs and dimmer switches where necessary.
I’ve got a few of the £50 colour bulbs but mostly the white and ambiance ones as I don’t get enough use out of the colours to warrant £50 on every bulb.
The ambiance ones are regularly on offer...
To be honest the built in apps offer the perfect functionality for the watch there’s not many others you need.
Got the Hue app on there for controlling the lights at home plus an app for multi-factor login at work, but you still get the notifications from your iPhone even if the associated app...
Yeh as above, SSD can transform an old machine.
My Win PC has an SSD system drive so it boots nice a quickly then 3 mechanical HDDs for storing all the media, but only because 10TB of SSD is still a bit pricey.
The last X and XS are both great phones but I’m proper impressed by the series 4 watch. I had one of the original ones and it was a bit tired after 4 years, plus the bigger screen... well worth the cash.
