i have also had a fiat punto do the clicking/creeking noise - i just packed the cv with new grease and all was well again :D
have you got someone to drive it at low speed with you stood along side it listening for the noise - say in a large carpark ;)

common problem on some earlier ford tdci engines - you have to drain the filter and measure the amount of metal in the fuel before deciding on course of action - still think its over kill changing all the pipes to and from the tank :o biggest problem is the high pressure side pipes and injectors...
yeh it could as it has to get to a minmum amout of effort to pass - if in doubt just phone the garage that tested it and they should put you right - did they not say when you went to pick it up - most usually are ready with a quote for the work :o
i am a bit rusty on my mot stuff now - but would say both refer to service brake ie you have something that needs sorting - sure that parking is put as parking/handbrake
either way best get your brakes looked at - could just be a strip down clean de-glaze pads and a good bed in session to sort...
could do with the damp weather - need to drive up the road and pull the handbrake on a few notches until you can feel it dragging and see if it goes off after a short while - if its rust build up due to damp then the nosie should stop :D
if it doesnt go off after a short while its probably not damp build up causing a slight rusting of the brake drum surface - i would have a look could be a broken adjuster spring etc
i have also had the brake lining come away from the shoe but thats mainly been on old linings :D
