Coming down the M8 at midnight, not another soul in sight, no cars, no workmen. They had temporary roadworks on the go and a temporary 40 mph limit. I was too busy gassing to my mate (was driving like a priest all the way home at 60-ish mph) when I was nicked by a temporary gatso doing...
Hmmm, for the price of a new 182 + turbo conversion, id prefer a second hand STi with AWD with loads of further tuning potential as opposed to a very highly strung FWD hatch.

woah, 0-60 in 5 secs?
I like it.
Of all the dealerships/garages ive dealt with, my local Renault has been the:
1) most friendly
2) quickest turn-around time for repair
3) most flexible
Ford have been the worst in comparison: their bodyshop, their service department and their sales - all dreadful.
Hi Ben,
See my thread here http://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=2&TopicID=133878&PagePosition=3
I had exactly the same problems as you and it is indeed the coolant temperature sensor. It tells the car its minus whatever temperature and it floods the car with fuel...
yeah the roads are still covered in sh*t even when theyre dry.
When its wet/greasy you have to be a little gentle in first gear - I usually change up before it comes on cam.
Pain in the arse innit John, I suspect itll be a wonky sensor or something because the performance and running of the car hasnt changed at all.
Its nothing too serious, just a couple of niggling faults. Its more the inconvenience of getting it back to Renault.
Could have been worse, my...
Looks like its only written off / repaired. From the RAC website:
# If an HPI check is included in your vehicle Examination, it will check on the following registers:
* Plate Transfer Register since 1990
* Outstanding Finance Register
* Vehicle Condition Alert (VCAR)...
Passenger side door wasnt locking/unlocking, according to Renault it was simply some plug had disconnected inside the door.
Is it wise to drive with the exhaust gas light on? The car is running absolutely fine, no performance degredation at all.
Dropped the car off at Renault this morn to get the central locking fixed on the 182, fixed in an hour - great!
Got in the car turned the engine on, the exhaust gas warning light is now on. Fcking great, another trip to Renault to get it fixed.
Wonder if its related to the car being...
Been looking at cars today with a mate, they had an immaculate BMW M roadster in yellow (totally immaculate) with 20000 miles on the clock fro £12995.
I thought "whhhaaatt?!" so i asked about it. He said it was a category C write off and it had been repaired. Looked great on the outside...
Does an HPI check reveal if there is accident damage to a car, or an insurance claim against it - or does HPI check just check if the car has been a write off and repaired?
I suspect the last option.
Any help appreciated.
Sorry to say, all this talk about "BMW build quality" is rubbish. I went to look at a Mini Cooper last weekend and I was shocked at the build quality - my mate and I agreed that it wasnt close to the 182.
yeah im 511" and im comfy too,
The position was a little strange at first, but im fine with it now - it could do with being a little bit lower.
Re: the offset.
This was also a little odd to begin with, but it makes so much sense now getting back into my other car (fiesta zetec-s). The...
Each to their own, some love the 182 and some hate it; but its certainly not fcking slow.
However, when I test drove the 182 i must admit i thought it felt that it was a little sluggish low down in the rev range and that my older Zetec-S picked up better in low revs.
Now, to be totally...
On the way to work today and back (motorway miles doing about 50/60 mph on average) I managed 40.5 mpg in the 182.
Just popped out to put some Optimax in the car, 82.9p a litre, put in £10 and it took it from just above the red line to just below half way.
Took it down the dual carriage...

Do pay attention ;)

I did pay attention, did you read my post at all? I said "theyd probably be nothing in it" and went on...
I think this has been discussed to the death.
Theyd probably be nothing in it, if youre worried about the 20 kg weight difference, put on a K-Tec exhaust to save 8kg, put in less than a quarter tank of fuel and lose some weight and youll get pretty close.
yeah, my temp gauge was up and down like a yo-yo; sounds like exactly the same fault.
Its a quick and easy repair, the only time consuming part is cleaning all the petrol from the plugs because of the flooding.
Obviously im still driving it like a granny then, ive only driven it to 7000 rpm once in its 1300 mile life. Its still loostening up I feel, so im not going to slam it to the limiter just yet.
Egos indeed I think.
I think the ST150 is overpriced, not when you can pickup an Ibiza FR 150 (huge tuning potential) from a dealer for £11k, or an import 182 fully loaded for £12.5k.
The guys over on zsoc.co.uk continuously argue that "its not about the power; Ford could have got more...
