some f**king German b**ch parked next to me in the gym car park and opened her door straigh onto mine as I sat there, no apology, nothing, just sniggered to her BF as they walked off, they were in a 12 year old fiat uno shed.
I thought joining David Lloyds would get me away from those types...
Funny how it is always the non-Cup owners who turn sour and unpleasant in these threads............. it just smacks of envy.
At the end of the day it demonstrates that the Cup is so much more desirable than a standard 172. It is the Clio of the moment, more so than the irrelevant, flawed V6...
I have to say, at risk of sounding smug, that my Cup has been faultless and rattle-free, with no delivery niggles, excellent finish on paintwork and everything. Only done 2000 miles though so it is early days.
I had braced myself for the worst given Renaults rep.
hehehe I had some tosspot in a Golf gti deliberately box me into a lane in traffic last night in very heavy traffic in town. Never got the chance to trash him back as when the traffic cleared we immediatley took different forks though I saw he accelerated off at full chat.....i should have...
The cup could be in the M3 league around certain tracks, with a preponderance of tight bends and no long straights - is the Evoconfigured Bedford track like that?
Those Vauxhall safira van things have tried to intimidate me a couple of times this week.......but a twitch of my right foot and theyre left spluttering in a cloud of SUL fumes.
A Disco got upset in St Johns wood when I blasted past as you approach Lords going north.... he tried to keep up...
is it possible to silence the annoying warning bleeper on the clio when not wearing the belt?
...and please dont say belt up !!!!! I hate wearing belts when cruising round car parks and the like looking for spaces....the bleeper drives you nuts though.
thanks Adrian
Yep - Im always stalling mine trying to pull away with minimal fuss! Thought I was just an incompetent driver, but the clutch does seem to bite a bit too high and unless revs are dialled in it will stall, buit as you say its avoiding dialling in so many revs you look and sound like a maiden...
Not driven one but the reviews all rave about the handling/cornering, so despite it being underpowered, you can carry high speed through the corners.
Cackles and pops beautifully on the overrun thru the exhaust too, sounds great.
Overpriced by miles when new but should be reasonable now.
I noticed a definite improvement in performance and rengine response going form a tank of optimax to SUL, which is what set me wondering about the RON of optimax given the Cup demands 98 RON.
A mate who runs a 22B reckons optimax is good for turbos at risk of det, but SUL s the one to go for...
the engine note is actually very good from 5000 upwards, sounds hard and race-car like. As addictive as the acceleration, which is like a scalded cat in mine now Im over 1000 miles......
