Thanks buddy. Nice to finally have one of my own!

    Back in a Clio - RB 197

You could have another to match though.

All 197/200’s on the forum. Get in here!

I have also joined the club. Not sure how long I'll keep it. Was in need of a car as my daily is knackered. Body is pretty good, interior needs a good clean and driver's seat isn't great. Sounds like it has a stainless too, but need to work out what it is. Circumstances might mean it's not a...

    Back in a Clio - RB 197

These aren't too bad in terms of cost in my experience. Some bits are pricey, but a friend of mine has one and has spent very little on it really. His gets loads of stick. When I was using his a couple of weeks ago, I was getting 35mpg, which was better than I expected really. You can buy the...

    Back in a Clio - RB 197

I think you either like them or you don't if you've come from MK1/2 Clios. They're very different to the older formula. It probably suits me a bit better as it's a bit nicer on dual carriageways than a 1*2 (apart from the silly short gearing), but can still offer plenty of fun when you're in the...

    Back in a Clio - RB 197

Yeah it's not bad. Couple of areas would benefit from some attention, but I've seen far worse.

    Back in a Clio - RB 197

Not really intentional, but it's happened :ROFLMAO: As some of you know, I had been running about in a Vectra wagon for the last year or so. It was pretty much the most boring car in the world, but was deeply practical, acting as a tow car and a van for carrying rally-related crap about...

    1.8T Conversion Questions

Yeah Beresford did them for my Escort. Weren't the quickest, but did a decent job.

    Deposit placed on new car

Ask the dealer if it has the latest key. All new ones are supplied with motion sensitive keys that go to sleep after 40 seconds, so can't be got by those signal relay boxes. If it didn't have it from the factory, you can still upgrade to the motion sensitive key on the MK8.

    My New VXR (Holden content)

Cleaning things was only ever likely to be a temporary fix in reality. I've rarely known if it working for any length of time. I did see a one owner, J-plate 240 for sale local to me.

    My New VXR (Holden content)

I know I said that, if you bought a big V8, it would be sold again pretty soon, but this is a bit more extreme than even I expected :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

    -3 or -4 clutch line?

Mine is -3 if I recall correctly. Works fine. That's an AP master on the pedal box, and the standard slave in the box.

    My cup

I love an RS Turbo. The Clio is definitely better by every objective, but the RS is still a deeply cool car.

    Show me your Turinis

Silver on a flamer for sure.

Like these a lot. I don't mind the standard 18s to be honest.

Spoke to him a couple of years back. Made quite a decent career for himself in Automotive PR by the sounds of it. Anyway... Saw these earlier...

Want to update the front end of your 172/182?

I really like that R.S. Sandero. Shame we can't have it over here.

    Love that!

    Stripped Clio weight..

Worth noting that that public weighbridges have a pretty large margin for error, as they're for weighing trucks rather than cars, so that might partly explain it.

    Clio V6 255 phase 2 review

Nice car. Metcalf's videos don't do much for me though to be honest.

    Clio 197 or Abarth 500

That seems to be what many owners love so much about them. They are ultimately flawed, but that's part of the charm.

    Clio 172 1.8t swap

Anything is possible, but probably easier to just fit a Megane engine surely?
  24. massiveCoRbyn

    Clio 197 or Abarth 500

I would like to try an Abarth. Owners seem to rave about them. The reported lack of steering feel would be a bit of a concern. I've been driving a 197 for the last couple of weeks again and really don't get why people moan about them to be honest. I got 35mpg out of the last tank, which I think...

In places like Dubai I think it's something to do with unpaid tickets or tax or something of that nature. Makes it more cost effective to just dump the car or something. Would love to know the story with this thing.

My missus sent me these earlier. She's in Saudi Arabia currently. Looks like a Turbo, but could be a Carrera with the aero kit. Either way, it's a few quids worth to have been dumped like that!

A guy in my office as a 2005-ish Mustang GT. He didn't import it but, if you'd be interested, I could ask him if he knows any good sources of info.
