I have also joined the club. Not sure how long I'll keep it. Was in need of a car as my daily is knackered. Body is pretty good, interior needs a good clean and driver's seat isn't great. Sounds like it has a stainless too, but need to work out what it is.
Circumstances might mean it's not a...
These aren't too bad in terms of cost in my experience. Some bits are pricey, but a friend of mine has one and has spent very little on it really. His gets loads of stick. When I was using his a couple of weeks ago, I was getting 35mpg, which was better than I expected really.
You can buy the...
I think you either like them or you don't if you've come from MK1/2 Clios. They're very different to the older formula. It probably suits me a bit better as it's a bit nicer on dual carriageways than a 1*2 (apart from the silly short gearing), but can still offer plenty of fun when you're in the...
Not really intentional, but it's happened :ROFLMAO: As some of you know, I had been running about in a Vectra wagon for the last year or so. It was pretty much the most boring car in the world, but was deeply practical, acting as a tow car and a van for carrying rally-related crap about...
Ask the dealer if it has the latest key. All new ones are supplied with motion sensitive keys that go to sleep after 40 seconds, so can't be got by those signal relay boxes. If it didn't have it from the factory, you can still upgrade to the motion sensitive key on the MK8.
Cleaning things was only ever likely to be a temporary fix in reality. I've rarely known if it working for any length of time.
I did see a one owner, J-plate 240 for sale local to me.
I know I said that, if you bought a big V8, it would be sold again pretty soon, but this is a bit more extreme than even I expected :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Worth noting that that public weighbridges have a pretty large margin for error, as they're for weighing trucks rather than cars, so that might partly explain it.
I would like to try an Abarth. Owners seem to rave about them. The reported lack of steering feel would be a bit of a concern.
I've been driving a 197 for the last couple of weeks again and really don't get why people moan about them to be honest. I got 35mpg out of the last tank, which I think...
In places like Dubai I think it's something to do with unpaid tickets or tax or something of that nature. Makes it more cost effective to just dump the car or something.
Would love to know the story with this thing.
My missus sent me these earlier. She's in Saudi Arabia currently.
Looks like a Turbo, but could be a Carrera with the aero kit. Either way, it's a few quids worth to have been dumped like that!
