That's the exact same as the full size iPad I have, and you're right it's a complete heffer. First model to have a retina screen and it was packing a hefty battery because of it. I think the iPad 4 was a similar story hence the change of name to an 'Air' implying lightness etc.
The Retina Mini...
I have one in the living room, use it more than my Sky box. Stream movies and music from my Mac which you can do from an iPad or iPhone. Also use it for Netflix if you're signed up for that.
We'll worth it for me anyway.
I should of clarified, the latest range of iPads including the Air have been the most impressive changes to the range in a while not just the Mini.
The Mini is finally the spec it should be as I always found the first model underwhelming. A great idea but felt like a rip off being based on old...
I got a 32gb Mini Retina for Christmas and I'm really impressed with it.
I have an iPad 3 so the first one to have a retina display, it's still quick enough and the screen looks great as you'd expect but it is heavy. The new Retina Mini is light, screen is awesome and it's really quick. Most...
They're not pretty but you won't find another case that protects your phone/tablet like the Survivor.
I'm keeping the one on my iPad 3 so I can chuck it in a bag, carry it wherever and not worry about it.
I saw the Lifeproof Nuud case in the Apple store whilst I was buying my Retina Mini and bought one.
Seems like a really good case, fits very snug and seems to offer good protection minus the bulk. Only things added was a matte screen protector as the case doesn't have one built in (like the...
If you do a full backup of your 4S through iTunes then you should be able to download the content to your 5S.
I took a backup of my first 5 which was replaced due to a fault and restored that backup to the replacement. Assuming this would work fine for a 4S to a 5S then you shouldn't lose...
Gmail or Outlook.com (has replaced Hotmail).
If you want something unique then you could go for a webmail hosting package and have your own domain specifically for your e-mails.. Depends how fussed you are.
I have a Griffin Survivor case on my iPad 3 which isn't exactly pretty but you know it's safe as houses with that fitted.
I'm rather fancying the Otterbox Defender for when I get my Mini Retina though, looks equally protective but not as ugly as the Survivor.
Elephant/Admiral used to do the exact same thing to me every year and I'd always go on their website, do a quote as a new customer and then get them to renew with that price not my renewal price.
Last year or so they've obviously got wise to it and won't let you take out a new quote online so...
I should think they'll have to as it's clearly a bug rather than lack of spec.
When you consider the iPad 3 is only one (or at most two) steps behind the iPhone 5 in terms of speed I'd be surprised if it was a hardware problem.
My Mrs 4S seems to be fine and my 5 is spot on, only thing I'm...
Although oddly my Mrs iPad 2 seems fine with the update!
Overall I'm liking the update though, like the look and feel overall, just the few niggles they need to iron out.
Dowload and install seemed to go pretty well on my iPhone 5 and iPad 3. Works brilliantly on my phone but I'm not so sure it's that smooth on my iPad, just seems less slick. Also, I tried changing the wallpaper on it and trying to zoom and adjust the image was virtually impossible as it wouldn't...
For most people it's more than good enough, in fact you'll find most detailers will have some kind of AG products in their collection.
Every detailer need a bottle of Super Resin Polish for a start (as already said), their Fast Glass glass cleaner is actually very good, the Rubber and Vinyl...
It's not often that people say I make sense haha. (Perhaps due to my choice of wheels)
E-bay as you say is a good one for detailing gear although not as immediate in terms of having it delivered. Also with regards microfibres, the Meguiars ones are actually quite expensive for what you get (£15...
You say that but I'm sure it was 5th Gear who tested all the various ways of washing and the hand car wash came out worse than taking it to a machine. I assume it depends very much on the techniques of the hand car wash but I'd imagine the relative cleanliness of the brushes (spinning the dirt...
Get yourself down to Halfords and buy yourself a selection of relatively cheap products. No point shelling out on the more pricey detailing gear and you can make your car look a hell of a lot better with a few hours elbow grease and a selection of off the shelf products.
Buy yourself a wash...
Mine gives me between 29mpg at worst and 34mpg around town. I've seen 40mpg+ sticking to a steady speed on the motorway.
Very economical cars for the performance you get. My Megane 225 is not that much quicker than my 172 but you'll only get 22mpg round town realistically.
Worst personal blunders are nothing serious, Collinite baked on in the sun, wheel sealant left on too long. Nothing serious just things that made detailing a bit harder.
Worked with a guy who decided to remove bird sh!t with wire wool which as you can imagine left a lovely finish. Couldn't of...
As said a hairdryer will soften up any sticky pads/labels so you can peel the majority off by hand.
I've found Autoglym Tar Remover good at basically dissolving any glue on paintwork to leave it totally clean.
I see, might be worth me looking into it a bit further.
I must admit though I rather like Red Mist but the spray heads make it a pain in the ar*e. I actually prefer the original RM to the Tropical version as I found it easier to work with when it evapourated more quickly.
My general understanding of sealants and waxes is that you polish then apply a sealant, then once cured you apply your wax on top.
A sealant won't bond properly to a waxed surface so won't last as long as it's meant to. A decent sealant should last 6 months if it's applied directly to a...
That's the result of claying the car and using Super Resin Polish. Admittedly that polish contains fillers so isn't correcting swirls although will remove light blemishes but detailing is purely cosmetic anyway so if you use this polish every 4 months and then re-wax it'll stay looking good.
You'd be amazed how good your car will look with a few products you can pick up off the shelf in Halfords.
I've got a hell of a lot of waxes from Collinite, Finishkare, Dodo Juice, Poorboys etc and yet one of the longest lasting waxes I tested out was Simoniz Original which you can get in...
One thing I would advise is don't get caught up in the snobbery of detailing, look into what products are recommended and rated rather than assuming if something is expensive it's better. A lot of products are produced in the same labs and work in an almost identical way.
Also don't forget...
I have heard it is much the same as Iron-X and works similarly as well, basically a chemical that attacks iron fallout.
My friend's company produces a product called De-Iron Me which is much the same as Dragonsbreath and I see why they called it that. I guess it contains sulphur as bloody...
