    Oil level message

Anything between the two lines on the dipstick is fine. Top it up if you want for piece of mind, but your car shouldn't use any, it will only drop if you have a leak.

My RB 182 on Piston Heads

Fairplay you are an absolute dildo. The price is fine, I just don't think much is selling at the moment. Any cheaper and you might lose interest as people will be suspicious I cheap it is. I can't see any low mileage RB 182's anywhere else for less.

    BARGIN petrol blue 182!!

To the average joe it's a 182 that needs its belts doing in a horrible colour. Not surprised its taking a while to shift.

    Girl's reaction's to your RenaultSport?

Re: Girl's reaction's to your Clio sports? I think I'm a bit too old for a 182 to be my only car TBH.

    Girl's reaction's to your RenaultSport?

For me its mainly the comedy-sized melting steering wheel and fisher price dashboard.

    Girl's reaction's to your RenaultSport?

Re: Girl's reaction's to your Clio sports? Do you really think so? My girlfriend would just think i was a gyppo if bought one of them. She doesn't like the Clio much but least its not really old. They are all over the Audi's and Beemers but not the ancient ones.

    This time last year

To be fair i was quite impressed with the VXR i drove not in the same league as the clio but much better than i was expecting.

    This time last year

Not really surprised he went back after an Astra GSI. I had mine for 6 months and didn't really get on with it.

    Front splitter

£18 quid mine was delievered from Skoda. Its £13 from the dealer but there isnt one within 20 miles of me. Looks pretty much the same and fit perfectly, just had to trim an inch or so off each side.

    Trade in Values

Probably because you are trying to trade against a car of similar value, you might get more if you looked at exchanging it for a car of higher value.

    My Girlfriends Clio

I might be corrected soon but i think those are the plates they have over in ireland.

    ***How much is it worth?***

Re: ***How much is my car worth?*** http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3433534.htm What could I expect to get for my 182? If someone in the trade could give me an idea of what I can expect to be offered part ex that would be good too as I quite fancy another S3.

Bit of advice go a treat

Exactly and it's each to their own. I don't really get to do that much "fun driving" anymore so want something a bit nicer to be sat in but can still give me a grin when I want it to. As for repair cost my last S3 was pretty good but i imagine anything that does go wrong might require a mortgage :)

What to look for when collecting a car from a bodyshop

Yeah I can appreciate that, but repairing a pin sized dent from transportation (which you probably wouldn't notice tapping it with your knuckle anyway) and filling a door in after the cars been hit by a lorry are a bit different. This is why I advised tapping down the sides in the first place...

Bit of advice go a treat

Yeah I massivley agree with this, you wont get anything the same age with more toys / performance for less cash, however its obvious to me that they've been built on a tight budget and the build quality isn't the best.

Bit of advice go a treat

30MPG was about as good as it got in my old one (which isnt bad considering what they weigh and the performance you get) so the 182 is much better on that front. Never really liked the A3's myself.

What to look for when collecting a car from a bodyshop

Will give him an idea of whether or not he's been done over though.

What to look for when collecting a car from a bodyshop

I didn't say it wasn't an acceptable repair method. However in the first post he said they are supposed to be using NEW panels. If I'd paid or my insurance had paid for new panels I would want them to use new panels even if filler would suffice. I'd be pissed off if I paid to have new panels...

Bit of advice go a treat

TBH I think the 182 is a teenager’s car (although god knows how or why they pay so much to insure them) I’m 23 now and had mine a little while now. It’s fun to drive fast but I don’t think it’s very nice to drive slowly (which seems to be a lot of the time now) and would like to move onto...

does it cost to sell on pistonheads now ?

This. It used to be £15 too. I always paid as you get to put more pics and the ad is at the front.

    De-cat truth

On that logic why bother with an exhaust at all? I imagine there is an optimum flow rate which might be achieved with or without the cat on, although I actually know nothing about this. I decatted my old GTI 6 an noticed that i seemed to have less torque lower down but the car really seemed to...

What to look for when collecting a car from a bodyshop

I'd tap all down the sides with your knuckle to see if there is any filler in there and as above look for colour match / orange peel.

    Thoughts on this 200?

Do you really think Renault would still offer a warranty after its been written off! Seriously doubt it.

    172/182 reliability?

As above. I wouldn't say they are unreliable but I wouldn't buy one if I was solely after reliability. They have been built to a a tight budget and you can tell IMO.
  27. bennno2005

Thoughts on this 172? - 'quife' differential??

Wouldn't have thought that they would picking up on an mot as there isn't normally a road test.

clio 182, buy or walk away?

Does that include new auxilary belt kit? Might want to get the dephaser done too if its got patchy history

clio 182, buy or walk away?

Sounds alright to me. I like a good history for piece of mind, but the condition of the car is more important. It doesnt sound to me like you are going to get anything better for that money.
