My gut instinct would be to say the timing belt slipping was an effect. I could be wrong but i would possibly say that the engine dropped a valve which caused the timing belt to slip a couple of teeth.

Brian what set up is that? Brembo's off the shelf item or from a vehicle? Also what size disc's? I'm looking at doing my own set-up at the moment. Just trying to source the parts before spending time in the machine shop at work
