You definately do not want an electric sunroof on your 172! My car has been back to renault no less than 5 times for a sunroof rattle.
Much crapness! - Avoid

There shouldnt be a need to drill anything as you will be able to feed the extended wires behind the trim panels to the rear of the car (they do lift up enough for you to slip the cables behind without having to remove them.
Assuming that you have taken the head unit out of the dash, you can feed the wires up from the passenger footwell. If you lean into the passenger footwell from the passenger side and put your (left) hand up behind the centre of the dash and feel up towards the back of the head unit you will find...
Sorry I didnt read your post properly, the panel above the head unit unclips (lock button/hazard switch/rear window heater panel) and allows easier access and helps when trying to stuff the head unit wires back in. You can just about get your hand up behind the heater controls from the passenger...
I assume you mean a live wire from the battery or wire from the engine bay. There is a gromet in the passenger footwell where the bonnet pull cable/alarm wires come through from the engine bay, there is plenty of room to run the cable through the gromet itself. I had to do this when I fitted my...
What is the top speed on a dci? The only reason I ask is because I was sat at approx 95mph yesterday on the M3 and one came past, it must have been doing about 110.

Andrew,
I have the electric sunroof in my car and it has been back to Renault no less than 5 times for the same rattle. The sunroof had been replaced but this didnt cure it. The rattle got worse in hot weather too.
What was happening was the structural supports in the roof itself which...

Someone I work with used to have a 206GTI and exactly the same thing happened every time we raced, which was about twice a week on the way home from work for 3 junctions up the M1. 1st and 2nd - nothing in it,3rd and 4th I would gain/pass slowly. He would make a comeback eventually (top end) and...

Oh my god !, that reads like one of my old A-Level MT textbooks, you really know your stuff when it comes to speakers, incedently, do you write text books for a living? (only joking).
I had three lots of in-car kit stolen from my last car so I am reluctant to do too much to the Clio...
I replaced the head unit with an entry level Apline single CD unit, I have not replaced the speakers yet but I can tell you it is noticeably louder and far cleaner than the standard Renault unit.
Secondly, distortion is rarely caused by the speaker itself (unless it is blown or incorrectly...
Erm.. My car is completely standard (apart from a magic tree and Mobil 1 oil). Im now somewhat confused and suprised also.
Confused because I thought this was about right for a 1.6, as I know someone with a 1.4 16v fiesta that does !25, ive read on another forum a clio si (1.4 16v) with...
