Sounds as if the seal they used has aged and given up or was never up to the job in the first place, bit like the seal around a bath tub needs renewing every so often. Ask them what they used first time around then tell them to use something better !

David, I had Diamond Brite applied to my car and I have to say that I wouldnt bother with it next time around. My car is (exactly) a year old now and six months ago I had to wax it because the paintwork started to look matt and dull and the water wasnt beading on it when it rained. Also my...

Sorry mate, never removed the top of the dash (not yet needed too), I have taken parts off of it though to fit stereo+controls. stu

The 6,000 mile service is completely free, all they do is a safety check i.e. check all the nuts and bolts are still tight, fluid levels. You have to have the 6000 service to keep the waranty valid (apparently). stu

You definately do not want an electric sunroof on your 172! My car has been back to renault no less than 5 times for a sunroof rattle. Much crapness! - Avoid stu
