Brake imbalance can be solved as easily as dismantling and cleaning and greasing caliper and sliders. This should also sort the brake binding. Mine failed on that stuff last yr and the garage tried to do me for £300 to replace front brake discs and pads with standard ones!

I always use M10 Bolts & Nylock Nuts with spring washers. Guaranteed not to come off (So far) You could use an M8 version of that set up. Theres one on eBay IIRC!

If its when you pull off quickly chances are its upper engine mount. I had it with mine and a new upper engine mount sorted mine, does the engine move much if you grab it by the inlet tubes and rock it back and forwards?

What upgraded manifold can he possibly have? No-one makes one. It's already tubular steel. The only manifold upgrade I hear of is 182 onto a 172. Ive got Pipercross Viper, 2.5" Full system inc decat, Matched inlets, CatCam 421s and I'm not running 224bhp! lol
