Are rear grooved discs worth the hassle

Yes. I bought this set really for the front discs and pads. They were all brembo, all new, they are the grooved discs and they cost £70 for the lot. If I have to spend a bit on bearings and abs rings I don't mind but it seems some people have trouble pressing the bearings in and the abs rings

Are rear grooved discs worth the hassle

I've just picked up a full set of front and rear brembo grooved discs and pads. They were brand new and cheap. I intend certainly fitting the fronts however the rears will need bearings pressing in and ABS rings fitting. Now I'm guessing I'm never really going to get any benefit for normal use...

    182 Trophy rear springs

I've just had an MOT failure due to a broken rear spring. I'm just hunting around the net to find a replacement or a pair of. Mine have a red and white stripe on the top coil. There seems to be a mixture of these and some with just a white stripe. What is the colour coding meaning. I'm still...

To car bra or not ?

Probably done somewhere before but what is the general opinion on these things. Do they cause more damage than they save. Are they the preserve of the VDub brigade. Are they the best thing since sliced bread. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Should window switches have illumination.

Seems very strange neither side is lit. I've posted something on the Trophy forum just in case they weren't on the trophy, I don't want to start stripping the door if they aren't faulty

Baffled by a wired component under outside door handle

You were right on the LED suggestion. It's a little strip of 4 micro LEDs that light when the interior one comes on. Leaving them for now.

Baffled by a wired component under outside door handle

You could be right there. I'd not considered lighting and not actually been in it in the dark. I'm having a couple of marks on the wheels sorted in my mates paint shop so will have a look when it comes back.

Baffled by a wired component under outside door handle

I've asked this question of the Trophy forum team but no one can solve it. If I lift the drivers/passenger door handle and look under it there is a black vinyl "pod" about 5cm long x 5mm across. Into it go 2 very thin black and red wires. It is stuck onto the door panel immediately below the...

    I'm a Trophy winner!

Well owner actually, as of today. It was a 6 hours round trip to pick up #449 but worth the journey. The car is in fantastic condition and has had a fortune spent on it mechanically in recent months. I've already got an Alien Green 200 so looking forward to comparing the 2. Here's a couple of...

My RS's - Old and new

You sound lke my wife !!:S I had never had a renault until december and just love the car but I wanted to try and get the newer 200 as a bit of a keeper as i think good ones will be sought after by those disappointed with the 1600T model. I like the shape of the 200 so when I saw Jays car for...

My RS's - Old and new

They are quite different. Just getting into the car the Recaros in the 200 make you instantly feel more part of it. From the engine perspective the power delivery is very similar but the exhaust note is quite different with the nice buzz which comes in at 3000rpm on the 197 not coming in until...
