Updates
Pre mot checked the blue dci on Sat. Quick jack up and all looks good, floorpan etc in really good nick for a 22 year old clio used in all weathers. Not much to note, front tyres need changing sooner rather than later, whilst in the air i greased the brake pipes and selecror bush, front...
Alloy not the right material. Phosphur bronze ollite prob the best but im no engineer.
Ive done about 30thou on my brass bushes now on the dci. I had a look at them on sat whilst doing mot pre checks and no play whatsoever. The car also has no heatshielding like 172 so basically open to the...

https://efi-parts.co.uk/product/630cc-4x-bosch-ev14-short-injectors-for-renault-rs/
Send your current ones to efi for a clean and flow test. Prob be ok.
Chris/Efi stock flow matched sets of 630cc bosch.

You could also use meg 250 injectors for around 300hp.
With it balancing ok, wouldnt worry about it. Be fine on the back.
Deal with it if wheels ever need a refurb, or if a spare wheel comes up in better nick.
I have the dewalt dcf899 and it has plenty of poke. I have damaged mine somehow though as the impact mechanism is noisy on it now, i think it was when i tried to undo a bolt that was tight as feck and rattled it for ages. Bit disappointing to be fair its not had tons of use as only occasional...
Done a few little bits yesterday.
Started off with oil and filter change as the oil had went black with the graphogen assembly lube from initial run up. I have a magnetic sump plug which was nice and clean, oil looked ok nothing to see really. Cut filter open to check for swarf, a few very...
Had a day on the Extra today.
Had to change the stack oil temp sender. Its buried under a load of pipes at the fronf of the block. Whipped front end and intercooler off for access, easy job as its all been off many times over the years
Intercooler off giving easy access
New sensor fitted, added...
Machine polished the rest today. For a small van there is a lot of panelling, 8 hours later and the rest is done. The fallout was horrendous on every panel, its had paint before to my suprise, the back doors are not the best but good enough. Overall it looks decent though.
The future, need to...
Been waiting for the postman to deliver some small parcels for ages so i could make progress on the Extra, ordered them all a fortnight ago and just arrived.
Had an issue with coolant temp sensor adaptor leaking from the threads even with a couple of wraps of ptfe, so ordered a tube of Loctite...
Nothing happening today so took advantage of the nice weather and cut/polished the passenger side of the noddy van. It had a big scuff on the passenger door, which came out easy after a couple of passes.
Fallout was horrendous on it, needed a good coat of Korrosol

Had a good look around the bodywork too, its looking well used im some places, and could benefit from a pair of front wings and a couple of other bits tidying up soon but still passes the ten foot test. Built to be driven, not to be washed
Had a good look round the underside, the front...
Updates from the weekend,
Awaiting parts to finish off under the bonnet so cant really go any furthur forward until they arrive so doing the little bits. Finished the last little bits in the interior and give it a good clean up.
Not too keen on the polished steering wheel anymore and fancied...
Check cam timing as it has to be knacker, and check map sensor o rings as they can leak, if all good stick a new set of injectors in and reset the adaptives. Mine was the same, replaced all ign bits with no joy, stuck a new set of injectors in and was great after that.
Looks well just caught up with the build (y)
Any feedback on the quality of the Kinugawa gtx2860r and how much did it set you back. Ive been looking at garrett gtx2860r gen2 for around 1k for core and comp cover, and these are tempting, but nearly garrett prices now.
Update
Gearbox was getting a little bit noisy on the blue dci. Changed gearbox oil, when draining it out it did not look the best, totally black and a bit of a gold tinge in the top, not good! Changed for fresh NFJ and its much quieter and better shift, it doesn't really get a hard life so...
Ordered an Airtec cosworth grp a filter as the old JR cone filter i had was blue, did not really fit in with the new look. Forgot how big they are when unwrapping!
Fitted, i planned on boxing it in but too big so can stay as is.
Added some fuses for both fuel pumps under the bonnet. @DaveL485...
They were great little knock about vans ten or so years ago when they were totally disposable.
They all have that door click when the open even the gtts! A few years ago the pins seized on my drivers door, causing it to drop a bit which in turn caused it to need a massive slam to shut, which...
Stack temp sensor turned up today
Done a back to back test with the old sensor and ir temp probe
Old sensor said 40deg
New genuine stack sensor reported 18deg difference
Repeated the test with hot water and same result, original sensor seems to max out at 50deg. Stack sensor responds far...
