I asked about the 1.6e bottom end with a 1.4 head on here a while back and yes it does fit but apparently wouldn't run very well. The engine is from a Megane and is a K7M iirc. Could always give it a go and coupled with headwork, cams and a full remap it might all gel together.

Surely when the Hot Air feed valve opens the engine will be sucking in unfiltered air?.

Ah coolios. Well my bottom end needs rebuilding idealy and a friend of a friend is a dab hand with a set of spanners so I was looking at my options. Plus with my decat and panel filter it would be a laugh [:p]

Will a Phase1 1.4e head fit the bottom end of a 1.6e?. Afaik the 1.6e is just a bored out 1.4. So does that mean a 1.6 bottom end will fit straight in, slap the 1.4 head on and away you go?. Anyone got any ideas? Cheers.

Noticed a change from about 2.5k to 4.5k on my 1.4RT. Pulls better and gave mine a throaty sort of sound upfront. You cant go wrong really :)

Well i doubt you can blow them up from just taking the HU out, but suppose they are Xplods. As for front speakers, well I have a pair of Infinity 500cs Components upfront in my Clio and they deffo sound better than cheap coax. Probably best off getting down to your local Halfords/Car...
