After a thorough good rant at the monkey boy at the service desk I was escorted out the dealership as I was disturbing the other customers!!!
Its been 2 years, never going back to a dealer.
Reno tried to tell me I needed a new manifold and downpipe at a cost of £450 but after further a 10 minute investigation by an independent garage all I needed was a £20 exhaust gasket!!
They also took 3 days to change a timng belt telling me that they didnt realise it was such a big job...
Clocked 125mph along the M8 between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Have had a couple of engine things done but shouldnt have affected the top speed much so reckon thats pretty accurate.
I have a 2001 1.6 16v RSi.
Love it to bits. Couldnt afford the extra for the 172 but then again mine does look a bit different anyway.
Do a search in the forums for 1.6 RSi there will be afew threads and pics posted previously. Welcome to the club mate. :D
First time I drove my Clio was around Belfast taking for a wee test drive with a girl 6 months preggers in the front so had to take it easy!!
Then drove it onto a big boat very carefully praying that it would clear the ramp with no probs, then over to Stranraer and fired up to Glasgow straight...
Mines an 2001 registered RSi with half leather and sits nicely on 17s and not quite standard now!

Im with AF with my engined chipped and re-mapped ECU. All mods declared and the quote was easily the best and thats with everything to be replaced new for old.
So a 2000 1.6 is rather rare then? I too have a said rarity but a 2001 registered 1.6 RSi. Mmmmwwwwaaahaha ;)
And I have to say they are pretty nippy and give the VTR burberry baseball cap boys a good caning when I get the chance.:devilish:
I had a Mk1 1.4RT then moved to a 1.6 16v RSi. It has had some engine work done too so prob got a bit more poke that standard but the difference is very noticeable probably because upped 8v > 16v too.
My insurance is through Adrian Flux who made me fill out a modification declaration form over a few pages and wanted photos of my car too. Dunno if thats the norm but an expection sounds a new thing. Just have to declare everything cos they will try every trick to stop a payout no doubt.
There are 4 collections Renault do for new style Clios. The Freeway, Elegance, Sport and RenaultSport in which there are various editions of Clio equipt with various things depending on what you want.
The Dynamique comes under the Sport collection and has 4 options. A 1.2 16v, a 1.4 16v and a...
Cheers for the feedback guys.
Yep unfortunately the kit is beginning to get a bit stressed due to the suspension. The front is doing the same and being hit by a piece of stray bumper on the M8 hasnt helped matters! Split the middle part of the bumper and the under side, managed to hold it...
The car is as it looks in the pics, they have not been doctored only the reg plate blacked out.
The standard kit does not come with front fogs, a pair of Clio V6 front fogs have been fitted but apart from that nothing has been altered.
Anyone had any dealings with Motorsportworld at Strathaven?
Was thinking about sorting out my suspension and wondering if anyone has any feedback on them?
My Clio with said Elia RSR kit.....:D

Does cost a rather large wad to fit and...
There was a Dimma Cossie Clio for sale a few years back in the back of Max Power, claimed it was churning out 400 bhp. Was a more lilac colour than that one. It was Dimma UK show car or something like that. They wanted 15k+ for it at the time.
Needed a job done quickly. Took it to Kwik Fit who then proceeded to crash my old car down the road :@ and still tried to make me pay for the work done. Bunch of tw*ts, avoid.
Nuff said.
There is also the problem with imports having various spec differences to the british cars, generally they are cheaper but they aint so stocked in the toys dept. Dunno if that would appy to the 182 though.
Just had a look at the mytyres site and they are charging £32 more than I got my Yokos fitted at Auto Image in Glasgow within 30 mins of turning up there.
Beats waitin a week and paying for fitting and still several beer tokens left! :)
Got A539s all round on my car. Been excellent on dry roads but been a wee bit slippy in the wet when pushed hard.
Dont think they match Toyo proxes in the wet but cant really fault them. Would recommend them.
