Hmm, I was right... it does hang down too much... am going to try and sort it myself in the morning.
Its very erm... loud. Actually stopped once tonight to check the exhaust was stil on the car coz it was making soo much noise! Is gonna take some getting used to... once i get...
was even lower than that when i picked it up so i reset it and it has hovered between 28.2 and 28.8 all week. frickin reno
gettin my exhaust fitted this afternoon so i bet any money if i bring it back into the dealer they blame the exhaust :@
What sort of mpg figures are dynamique owners getting according to the little digital thingy?
My average was between 38 and 41 before the fuel injection was reprogrammed last week, and now the best ive seen all this week is apparently 28.8mpg?!
seems a bit spurious to me, any thoughts?
Am now preparing to entrust my new zorst fitting to a dubious spanner monkey at a local tyre and exhaust place for cash in hand... shud be interesting - 10 minute job he reckons so im expecting heat shield rattle, drooping backbox, and a distinct lack of gun gum!
will report back later!
u mean i have to cut the old one to get it off? so u reckon i could do it with just the jack then? havent even got a hacksaw at the moment, what would i need to cut it with?
ohhhhhh, wish it was fitted now!
sounds like you could have done some damage mate. once it was overheating you shouldnt have carried on driving. you might have got away with it though fingers crossed.
wouldnt they deny responsibility and blame the owner for not keeping the oil level up?! even if you said you didnt expect it to lose oil so quick, they would most probably claim you had a dipstick and dash-display to keep am eye on it. think ill check mine tomorrow just to be on the safe side -...
Got my exhaust today - thanks for getting it out quickly if you read this David!
Its now sat in the back of the car (only just got in from work). I rang round all the garages in the area and no-one will fit it for less than 50-60 quid + vat!!! i mean f*ck that, how can they justify that?!
So...
the revs still oscillate up and down quickly immediately after you start it from cold, and if you increase the revs a bit then it just oscillates at the higher revs! lol
when i got the car back the trip counter had been reset and had 1.2 miles on it. oh well, itll do for now.
cheers jay, no-one there told me anything about that. i have to admit it did feel better today than i thought it felt yesterday when i picked it up.
thanks for that mate.
Liam
:D im all excited!!
also preparing to be amazed coz i was sure a little 1.2 couldnt be persuaded to make a decent noise! hopefully im going to be proved wrong by monday *prays it comes friday!*
my mate had an L-reg one a few years back with over 100k on the clock and it still went like it had less than half that. it was much nippier than the 1.8D fiesta I had for a while at the same time.
mines a bit like 03dynamiques and has had the fuel injection reprogrammed.
uprating a battery is only delaying the inevitable really if you have a higher current going out of the battery than you are putting into it. the difference is if the battery is well charged it will last longer before...
lol, tell me about it. my top end sounds rattly n all... so i turn the music up and sing louder! ordered my exhaust today as well to try and drown it out a bit more! :D
After getting my car back from Renault yesterday (not sure if it is actually fixed though) I was at work today and on a sudden impulse grabbed my phone and rang k-tec - and as a result am over 200 notes lighter but on the positive side my little dynamique will be wearing a new exhaust next week...
got my 1.2 back from renault yesterday after getting a couple of problems "sorted"... like Jay172 told me, all that was done was software and nothing else to sort the running issues. still not 100% right but its definitly better than it was and i cant go without my car any longer so itll do for now.
cheers lads,
will get a heavy duty battery when i get the system in i think then, didnt think the tiny battery would last all that long with 3 amps and a head unit - seems to struggle with fogs, ac, standard stereo up loud and rear demister if you leave it sitting about for any length of time!
Just wondering what everyone thinka about how up to the job the 1.2 dynamiques alternator is to run a head unit and 3 amps without killing the battery?! Going to be fitting a new system soon but dont want to have to keep getting the jump leads out!!
i had a thread up about this a couple of weeks ago mate, the vote went to k-tec almost unanimously! i got the same apprehension over buying stuff mail order without seeing it so plannin to go and play i-spy at a cliosport meet asap!
