ahhh 4 gears! Takes me back!
Waste of time and money! Looked into doing it on my mk4 1.3 Escort which is about the cheapest car there is to work on. Just wasnt worth it.
If you do a lot of motorway driving i see your point but if not then i really wouldnt bother. Escort still did 105 in 4th:o
Think he just wants something that doesnt need servicing every 500 yards;). I think he should get a MK1 172
mind you 10k (evo) + 3k (VTS) = 13k = black 182 with cup pack :D
Sorry Jon but I dont think any UK main dealer would touch an imported Mitz with a barge pole. I mean they aint too cool about imported 172s so wont chance does the it have? Even if they did theyd pay well under book I reckon! Worth a visit and maybe a 182 test drive though.
Really want you to...
Get another loan from a bank (6.9%) for say 9k? Pay off the 1.2s 6k. Leaves you with 3k and your car 5.5k ish to buy a 172 for 8.5k. Second hand with highish miles im affard. Talking lots of money either way including insurance.
Unless you get a mk1 172 for 7k to save money.
£11,995 for a new cup at Renault Croydon last october.
Almost got a pre reg one in Beckenham for £11,400 but they sold it 5 minutes before I saw it. They offered me a pre reg 172 for £12,000 but it was silver. Wanted Red, Blue or Black.
I do feel changing from a 172 to cup isnt worth while.
The 172 was the top of the range and is also the most expensive. Taking its RRP cost into account you would except a few little extras.
Ok taking off the ABS was a total waste of time of everyday driving but some of you act like the CUP...
What was it Roamer? Warp 9?:)
My VTR was only book of 119 (i think) but has only 120 on the clock so it stopped. Wasnt quite at full power either but I gave up because the speedo stopped.
Bit more servicing (depending or course your driving amount) and more fuel (even if you keep the loud pedal up).
1.2 will run on a sniff of Aftersave compared to a 2.0 (round town anyway)
Good luck. Thought about a MK1 172? Really nice car and you could save the extra for the insurance.
IMO more focused than the MK2 but with more luxurys than a cup.
