How old is the front lambda sensor? If it's been replaced what brand is it?
The high Lambda value could be down to an exhaust leak but I would expect the car to drive OK.
Depends,
One guy I know of is still on a genuine backbax 4 years later. Before then he went through 3 pattern exhausts over 2 years. The quality of aftermarket items make the factory stuff look good!
Before anyone asks he's also running a Powerflex mount for the dogbone and kept an eye on...
Hopefully this will clear up one question for me.
I am about to get my Turbines refurbished in Anthracite, but before I do I figured I would clear something up.
I have seen the reasons cited for why 15s are seen as an improvement, for mainly lightness and driveability; My Turinis weigh around...
IMHO if it is not a weld in cage you may as well save your money. The cage will pull the bolts through the floor of the car, or in the case of my RST attempt to seperate the floor/sill (OK, that is a little different) due to the stress not being spread. With spreader plates it does change...
How long is a piece of string? It depends on whether the joint is rusted or cracked. If either the metal will be weak.
You could attempt to weld it but would probably blow holes in the metal.
In short I'd possibly renew it unless you can weld it yourself.
Are you referring to the driver's side? I am fairly sure my '03 172 has an intermediate shaft before the driveshaft.
When did Renault stop making shafts for these?
If you ask a question you will get many different replies. My gut feeling however is that the cat is to blame (being a cheap pattern item by the looks of things) and possibly your thermostat being knackered. If it were me I'd get a genuine cat, with a secondhand item being fine and either a...
In theory they should both be the same; I and a friend are running the NGK versions in ours (the Laser Platinums).
As for the plugs the platinum bits generally gives a longer life. I personally don't like working on my car more if I can help it, and the life of other plugs bar what Renault...
I take it neither gives you the display? If that is the case I may just go with the Connects 2 assuming one is not better than the other for the function of the steering controls themselves.
I too would be interested in knowing this.
I notice there are around 3 available to use with my HU (an Alpine CDE-178BT):
1) Autoleads Harness Kit
2) Connects 2 Kit - Does this not require the dash to come apart unlike the Autoleads kit?
3) Rare Alpine kit - This gives you a working display...
Fred has emmigrated to Australia the last I heard. I am a little gutted as I no longer have a specialist that close on my doorstep. A friend is too as he was only 5 miles away from Fred!
I remember seeing the car at Elite Autos a while back. When did you buy the car however. Call me...
Elite Autos do their receipts in this fashion. They have changed a few belts on these. What is the colour of the car and the reg of it?
On another note it may cost you more etc. but I'd seriously conisder going to @MicKPM given that the nearest bloke Fred@BTM is now gone.
People are quick to moan about delivery charges until things go tits up.
Until recently I used to send things off cheaply on eBay. After seeing how Yodel and Hermes delivered items to me, some of them now being made of Unobtanium I now use UPS, RM or maybe TNT at a push. Delivery is not free...
FWIW I plan to use my Helix 4 paddle with a stock clutch cover in my RS Turbo (a 220mm cover). Unlike a Clio clutch a stock item will only take 150BHP before it starts to slip. I understand that with the hybrid setup people are running 250ish BHP with no slipping issues.
It will also be far...
From somone who bought a car with a shot camshaft and 6 very worn lifters don't do it if the engine is not terminal. It took quite some headscratching to figure it out.
The oil looked something like this as well (I had to scrape it out; I was lucky that the engine was hot when I drained it)...
I think the guard is like that due to the pulley sitting so far inside the engine bay. Not many small cars have a massive engine put into them with not much room to spare.
It could be worse. You could not run one at all. My Escort doesn't (I can't due to the engine type (it's now a ZVH for...
On most cars it is tricky to see. Motor factors IME tend to be cheeky and have 1 part fit three cars when a dealer will specify different parts for the cars.
The 406 items can go quiet with Ceramic Grease. I had similar brakes on my 944 Turbo and they were fine (with the plates etc).. However, a Porker specialist in Brum (and a fellow owner) also said to leave the grease off them entirely and to go with the genuine rubber squeal doughnuts that sit...
