Ditto, just read the thread. An enjoyable read and great to see the learning process throughout.
RE Tim Harvey, Gold and Green Esso Ultron 406 was circa 1998-1999. I started my love affair with all things Super Tourer in 98 at Thruxton, driving down in a Mk2 XR2 sleeping in it overnight to be...
He sent me a video of the fuel line leaking in the engine bay and bad wiring, done by a well known 'specialist' that everybody on here swore by.... Ridiculous.
He bought a house that I can only describe as a row of 4 terraced houses in one plot, half of which was a barn to store hay and the...
Genuinely gutted when he said he was selling up and moving there. He really is, I know it's easy to say that and people tend to over rate friends or people when they've had work but he was bloody good. His depth of knowledge about Renault tech was unbelievable, add the Motorsport equation ino it...
When I did my projects I had a chap called Matt who used to work for Renault as a master tech, he also had a sideline in motorsport prep. Having a degree in all things motorsport tech, worked for Quaiffe spannering on the GT cars.... I knew the Clio would be in safe hands.
What he didn't know...
To be honest I don't think I've come across a buzz or whine I'll have to check it out next time I'm in the car. I hasn't really made a difference capping the ends, in fact as I've put more miles on its stayed the same maybe a touch louder with the ITG induction kit on. You can noticeably hear it...
NOVEMBER

JUNE
Just enjoying the drives out for the hell of it. Facelift 220 in the local dealer has me looking around it.

A year today I made the 566 mile round trip to trade in my Mk4 Clio Media Nav diesel for the Liquid Yellow Clio 200 EDC. In the week leading up to the deal I'd been on the phone to the salesman working out the finance numbers, I then took the punt to drive to Vospers in Plymouth to view it, test...
It's been an amazing thread to read so far, I can't imagine how happy you are to finally have the chance to give it a shakedown and drive it in anger! Can't wait to see how this goes.
I'm glad you've had a go in a car with paddles Mark, how you describe the drive is pretty much on par with the 200 EDC in Sport Mode. It holds the gears much higher, sharper/responsive gear changes and blips the throttle on down shifts.
It's an auto in letting it do all the changes in everyday...
I'll be honest the wheel IMO won't want spacing out that much, the rears are already close to the arch edge more so than the fronts. The rears maybe 5-10mm, fronts 10mm maybe 15mm max.
Again, based on my findings just lowering on Cooksports makes a difference by filling the arches and giving...
