... Fred... or someone? You're not the first to have this, If I recall some recent renault parts changes have resulted in the incorrect fitment in some cases. What part numbers did you buy and what came with it?

Surely just buy the lowest springs you can find....swap your springs....sell your springs to recoup some pennies. Don't chop springs, there really is no "right" way to do it. Oh, and you willl probably end up needing new shocks soon enough so consider that too.

On any other car I would totally agree. But two genuine shafts are said to be around £500 which is ridiculous for a small hot hatch.
