Really? I've found the opposite - An overly wide tyre (for a particular width rim) will move around too much and dumb-down steering response, but it will absorb bumps better. However, when the tyre is stretched slightly on a rim it gives a sharper steering response, a similar effect to raising...
Not sure about springs, the marking isn't a renault part number so probably aftermarket.
Those KYB rear shocks are not right for any RS clio, let alone a cup. The KYB excel-G is supposed to be an improvement over OE quality, but the part listed for mark 2 clio's covers all varients except...
Yep, you get a good idea of whats going on by pulling the conections to the injectors individually. Then once you're sure which cyl is missfiring, just swap the actual injectors over between a pair of cylinders. Then repeat the unplugging of the connections to test it again. That will show...
No, ET25 wouldn't achieve what your were wanting really. In a like-for-like wheel, an ET6 would mean you could do away with the 30mm spacer. As you are looking at wheel which is half inch wider then you need to clarify if your aim is to have the outer rim lip at same position relative to the...
I also like the ones I got from Mytyres last year. I'm sceptical of there being a superior version/compound but keen to hear more evidence for that theory, if it exists.
obviously Federal should be able to offer something conclusive but it also seems there is a big loose-end to this topic that...
The "book" pressures are the same accross all mk2 renaultsport clio's, so make of that what you will - its nice experiment to find what the best pressure to run is anyway, I've never stuck to manufacturer figures.
33 psi front and 30 psi rear (cold) is quoted in uk handbook but Renault figures...
For me I'd stay standard, unless track car. Reason being I don't want to sacrifice steering feel. But I've not tried big spacers so cant really say what effect they have on performance.
Best = none IMO. Unless you're asking about looks?
And you only have about 7 turns on standard bolts on the front wheels, which isn't a lot, so any amount of spacer really needs longer bolts to be safe. Standard bolts are 60deg tapered M12 x 1.5 x 24mm long thread, some say 26mm but mine...
To those still musing over this, wanting a laymans explanation...
Firstly, dismiss the idea that torque is accelleration and power is top speed. It doesn't explain anything properly because an engine doesn't drive the wheels directly. The force an engine produces (torque) is converted by the...
Without trying it on better tyres it would be a waste, in my opinion, to go headlong into changing the suspension. It sounds to me like that's a big factor, especially if the tyres are quite new with lots of tread block remaining.
RE disconnecting front bar - Not done so in the clio but in the 205, for me it lost more than it gained, felt like it needed more damping to control diagonal pitching into the corner.
...to maximise traction? Yeah, its not all about roll. or lack of. Personal taste in car handling is important, guess the OP has desire for turn-in speed?
Who told you that nonsense? With an anti-roll bar, if one side is loaded up (in cornering, eg) the opposite side is also unloaded to a degree depending on the size of the bar (and its geometry). It certainly doesn't force the opposite side to keep the tyre in contact with the road, it would...
Some dicky advice going on early in this thread in my opinion... but then, reasuringly, a few with knowhow have chimed in. Front and rear suspension geometry is designed to give a Roll Centre height. That and the cars inherant Center of Gravity are arguably the most important factors relating to...
I could understand if it was hard-to-find parts, but soucring clio 172/182 brakes is easy! No need to be guessing at what your buying on ebay. You're a member so make use of it - use the traders section on here, they'll see you right :)
Its more likely to be leaking oil than consuming it im my experience. Take the undertray off and let us know what its like under there.
Mine leaks a bit from the sump gasket, I've not got my undertray fitted because I'm monitoring it and you can see it gets messy under there if its leaking...
It might be fine ? But it definately looks different, importantly the nozzle is a different shape although I cant tell if the orifices are the same, which is probably most crucial.
Im not 100% a valeo one is Renault OE. So don't worry about that. Understand your options were limited, you got to get to work etc. keep your old one as well though, it was probably fine.
I don't have any experince of putting non-genuine injectors on, but I wouldn't want to missmatch brands...
I would have just bought one injector before doing anything else, personally, but you've not doen any harm renewing plugs and coil (assuming the coil is the correct valeo one). I am puzzled why you've put a bosch injector on. I cannot imagine it will be exactly the same spec. as the correct...

This is what you want.
As has already been said, The issue is most likely to be injector(s).
When you did the test pulling the conections first time and confirmed cyl 3 was missing that was quite telling. I'd also bet that no 2 is on its way out/needing clleaning. You can test them for resistance, the correct value...
Balancing might sort the vibration but I doubt it will sort the pulling issue. As it was fine before fitting the tyre then thats your problem, don't bother doing anything like alignment at the moment - just get a matching pair of front tyres.
There's very little choice. Probably best with OE from Renault but I am using a red silicone set sold on ebay for £32 and no issues so far.
I would have prefered OE from renault but I couldn't justify the cost when these were half the price. Quality of the conections is probably a step down and...
Adjusting toe is unlikely to sort a pulling issue. It's still worth doing as a matter of investigation, but ask that the suspension is checked for play before doing any adjustments.
If it pulls strongly to one side, usually something is worn (most likely track rod end or lower arm balljoint)...
I think your near-side rear shock absorber (damper) is likely to be at fault.
As you'll probably be aware the rear shocks are prone to failure, much more-so than any other car I've owned anyway. You say no leaks, but in some cases where leaks have gone un-noticed for many months they dont...
Standard front camber is approx 40 mins, are you confusing spec with the rear?
I think you will be fine. I run 1deg 30mins camber (eibach bolts on 182 cup struts) with 205/45 r16 federal rs-R tyres on standard 182 cup (ET45) wheels. I have about 10mm clearence at standard ride height.
You've...
Propper diagnostic would be quickest way to find out whats up. But, from the description its very likely to be either an ignition system problem or faulty injector. The symptoms are very similar - last winter an injector failed on me, one day it ran fine then after a brief period of it not being...
