How's it going to act like a wick if there is nothing on it? ;)
Spilt oil will usualy run off anything hot before reaching its flash point. With heat wrap or similar it holds it against the hot component until it reaches flash point and lights off. PS fluid, brake fluid and engine oil are all...
Heatwrap is an ideal way to make sure your car properly burns should you ever have an underbonnet fire.
The stuff is lethal which is why its use has decreased so much in motorsport since ceramic coating technology became affordable in club and semi-pro. Heat wrap holds any lose fluid such as...
Shouldn't be from the JMS vid it's only gentle. Way over the top/poor calibration 'backfires' can damage exhaust valve seats/valves and cause engine failure if the pressure in the manifold slows the closing off or forces open an exhaust valve at the wrong point.
Prob cost you a few MPG though...
If all you want to do is drive it on them to wherever is going to map it then you'll be fine. They run lean at the top end but not massively. Keep it under 5000RPM and 2/3 load and you'll have no problems.
Give me a shout if you want it mapping and you're in the South.
You sure the injector you've swapped in is a good one? A dead short in an injector can occasionaly do funny things as the ECU gets a constant 12V up a PWM driver. Having said that the Sirus has reverse voltage and over voltage protection on most of the important pins so shouldn't be too fussed...
Decel fuel cut off strategy reduces the injector duration to zero in a variable amount of time/engine revolutions based on numerous factors. In a modern DBW production car the cut off will be total and ASAP to ensure emissons compliance.
It's very, very easy to make them pop and bang if you...
Which is pretty impressive as it's running a decent amount of decel fuel cut and is pretty much L0.89 across the on power range LOL
I can do you a crippled "end of the month and skint for petrol" map if needs be ;)
It really is bloody good! We looked at the 30 but decided to spec up an 11 to meet our needs as the smaller install depth worked better for us and cradle type twin roller setup suits the sports prototypes and Lotii much better as we can strap over the top of the wishbones and hold them in the...
Thanks Danny. It's not a standard one either ;) #1 of 1 :D
We've got the wireless controller which has a lot more functions than the old wired version. It's really for remote control of engine dynos but works very well in a chassis dyno application.
You'll have to come and have a play on it...
Not even slightly. There is much more air moving around the engine bay "in the real world" than it's ever possible to create on a rolling road - even with our 40K CFM + of air movement kit!
Oh and just to add I'd usualy run them bonnet up, however Fred has lightened the Dynacup to the point that it's got no bonnet prop, no safety catch and a carbon bonnet which means the bonnet would try to make its own way out of the cell if we ran it open. Temp probe in the bay to make sure...
Says Mr "I'm having it round track ASAP now" ;)
Don't worry I'm babying it and happy to report no sign of DBW safe mode since I recrimped that connector!!
Fred left the Dynacup at TDF the other day and I had promised to get some figures for him. Got around to it today, vid below :)

The old girl is pretty healthy!
