Yes they are. The new wheels have more of an offset on them so they might be at a push to fit under the arches with the 25mm spacers.
I can have a look over the weekend to what the rears are (car and spare parts are kept at my dad's and I am not there until boxing day).
Nothing wrong with the...
Don't worry, I went through the same pain as you! Was a nightmare trying to pinpoint what it was. I still have the old TB which I might take apart and see what is what with it
What spacers are you after?
If you can wait until January I will have a set of 25mm H&R bolt to hub spacers and a set of 15mm (I think, could be a 5mm and a 10mm to make 15mm) behind the hub rear spacers which I am not going to need.
And +1 on th Fatty IK, adds a bit more drama to the driving...
is it only holding revs when you gently let off the throttle? Like if you are holding it at a constant speed or lifting off to coast to pull up to a stop?
Can you get it to hold the high revs by manually opening the throttle by hand and not with the pedal/cable? You may need to open it and then...
Make sure you get one that has straps that go under the car to keep it on. The one I have doesn't and it is a right pain, to the point where I didn't bother using it. Saying that it wasn't an expensive one.
I jave also put one of those dehumidifier crustal boxes things that collect water inside...
Air getting in past from a leak from a point past the throttle body??
If you are removing the throttle body I would reccomend getting a new throttle body gasket before you do as you will be extremely lucky if you manage not to damage it tkign it off. For the sake of a few quid (less than £5) it...
Gave the car a bit of a once over as the last time I used it was at Cadwell Park to make sure I didn't kill it!
Turns out my basically new front brake pads are nearly gone :confused: They were only replace back in July after Llandow. They were the same pads as what they replaced but...
This is my approach to the possible rot issue...can't see it then it's not there.....haha
Although looking at your picture of your inner sill this is similar to how mine were last summer. I decided tho treat them with a bit of Kurust and hammerite paint. Although I know it wont solve the issue...
Ph1's are notorious for sticky throttle bodies. I recently replaced mine with a lower mileage non-sticky second hand one and it was fine. A new one from Renault is £300, as the lad behind the counter was about to order one when I asked for the throttle body gasket! i was like £300 for a gasket......
A few pictures of the new daily car just after a wash, hopefully will be a bit more shiney soon with a few more washes.
This was pre-vacuum!
Few jobs to do on it -
* Change front discs and pads (bought and ready to be fitted)
* Paint a caliper as it has been changed at some point and it's...
The non-Renault throttle cables are not as good as the genuine ones - the one I replaced on mine didn't have a rubber sheath all the way down the cable and this is what I think caused it to be "sticky". The genuine Renault one is worth that bit extra as it is covered all the way which will stop...
Is everybody selling Odessey blue Ph1's now??!! That's at least four I have seen for sale in the past few weeks! I even went to look at one, but needed too much work for my current situation - aka mother didn't want another broken car sat on the drive for weeks while the engine was replaced...
Not much has been done these past few weeks apart from drive it to and from work. The commute to the new job is so much nicer than the old one, that was like rally driving.
Have made some purchases.....
These wheels. Utter bargain at £307 from £624 and the are new!!!! I have only know two...
Front splitter = need for mine!!
It certainly looks the part this does.
I sort of refuse to look at my sills in the argument if I can't / haven't seen any rust then it's not there!! But at least you are not breaking it and keeping it going, as that annoys me loads. But it does help to push...
I have kept all of the receipts of the items I I've purchased and wrote mileage (to the nearest thousand) and date on them. The pile of paper work is getting big!! The only thing I don't have a receipts for brakes from George RTR from over the summer. But fonon my project thread and it details...
I took my badges off last year tonpaint them black. I was under the impression the Renault Sport one was stuck on with no pins so I was going to replace it with a sticker. However, the Renault part of mine had pins and the Sport bit didn't. Such a ball ache. So i have a feeling it depends what...
Ahh I didn't know you could swap without replacing the belt. But without proof I would be tempted for a new one
Yeah, another Ph1 and ideally not in silver close to OEM as possible and close to be as possible. This one is Odessey blue and looks in good condition with some service history. Not...
That is probably what he said! He unpluged/removed something and it stopped knocking.
But its a new cam belt too isn't it if the dephaser is raplaced? Just want to know as I have an overall budget for a car and willing to get work done if I can get it for the right price.
Just found out the...
This will soon need an adult rating as it is verging on porography. I like it a lot.
It is nice to see someone love a Ph1 and keep it standard (my next Ph1 will be kept standard!!).
I am not too clued up on the workings of the dephaser, I was just quoting what he said. Is he talking trash? Or it could have been a switch or something come to think of it! Sorry, old age memory problems are hitting me far too early!!
I am going to look at another Ph1 172 tomorrow night as a possible daily car, and the seller has said the depasher is on the way out.
He described the issue as when the engine is up to temperature there is a knocking noise, and if he removes the oil pipe that feeds the depasher the knocking...
That's a nice cage. A cage for mine is on the list for things to do before I waste money on my engine.
Do you have a link to the cage? Just trying to get options as I would like front protection too instead of just a half rear cage
