Sorry mate, that was a copy and paste!! Ive edited my post and changed it. LUAS is the Dublin light tram system.
Loving the red paint, Volcano red she is. Pops in the sunshine, lovely. Getting lots of jealous looks :approve:
Well, the poor Clio was asbolutely filthy. My apartment is next to the construction site where they are putting an extension to our Dublin light tram system and the road does be in an absolute hoop because of the trucks. Heres a couple of before pics. The front of the car was pretty clean but...
Continental SportContact2. Excellent all weather tyre with fantastic road holding in both wet and dry conditions. Wasnt too bad in the snow either, though I was pretty much crawling. Only 2 downsides that I can see. Price and they are a very soft compound meaning they wear quite quickly.
Well, let me just say as someone on his 6th Renault and 4th Clio, Ive never had any issue with the build quality of any of my Renaults. Electronics however.......
Though I must admit to a worrying looking rust spot developing on the passenger side just below the window :dapprove:
Happened on my first Mk3 1.4. Turned out to be the coil pack but happened again the very next day which ended up as the lambda sensor. Not great for a car that has only done 10k kilometres at that stage
Its probably the reverse light actuator switch. Should be located somewhere on top of the gearbox casing, though Im not sure about this. Ive only had a problem on the Audi I used to have so I cant say for sure on the Clios. Hope this helps Kat.
The Clio 2 has independent rear suspension where as the Clio 3 has a rear beam with trailing arms to which the springs and dampers are attached. The dampers fix to the arm inboard of the hub and mount to the body frame inside the boot. The springs are mounted forward of the dampers on the arms...
I get abuse all the time too, cos I stick with Renaults through thick and thin. I love Renaults, have done since I was a nipper and always will. That said, Im a car nut through and through and have driven a lot of other cars, mainly mates cars and rentals etc. In Ireland Jap cars are big news...
As I said on the text, glad you got her back, and like I said you would, you are back in love with the car again. Take her handy now for a while just in case :)
I have exactly the same thing in my 08 Clio 1.4 and I also had the same issue with my previous Mk3 Clio. I dont know what the problem is and havent even asked Renault about it yet.
Not if its a 1.2 mate. Depending on the age it should have ABS but all around discs were NOT standard fit items on the 1.2 car. They still arent standard on the Mk3 Clio 1.2s!!!!!!!!
Actually, Ive just been thinking about this. With the Megane 1 facelift they brought in the new 16v 1.4 and 1.6 petrol engines phasing out the older 8v lumps. And with the Clio Mk2 they just added the 1.2 16v to the range along with the 1.4 16v. And with the Laguna 1 they added the 1.6 16v...
Hi,
Ive been offered a set of Yokohama S-Drives in 215/45/16. I need to know if these will be ok on my standard rims which are 6.5J size. Currently running Continental SportContact 2 tyres in 195/50/16.
Cheers :D

Re: someph-ing different...........
Jesus, I just spent hours reading the whole thread, all 27 pages!!! Thats a serious amount of work man, credit to ya and keep it up. Have to say I was a bit dubious when I saw the yellow paint but shes actually turned out really well. Did you ever do...
Very nice!! Have a look at the tyres though mate, the passenger front tread pattern looks different to the drivers front.
Oh, and the clear side repeaters came in 2004 with the 182 and the general facelift given to the Clio then.
Very nice car, looks well. Best of luck!
Oh, I know a chap that replaced the standard engine mounts with Group N mounts. Says its a god send. Vibration and noise at idle/low speeds but it goes away.
Ah right, the 03 is the supercharged one alright. Punchy enough for such a heavy car. If its putting out a lot of black smoke Id say theres something not right at all with it.
Not sure if you can answer this but I have an unbranded (sim free) N78 and its causing hassle with the Parrot 3100 hands free in the car. It connects, goes into synchronisation, disconnects, connects and repeats the cycle anything upto 10 times before finally settling down and connecting. Now...
Jesus, no need to be so defensive. I was trying to point out that the 1.4 accelerates quicker than the 1.2 and since I dont know the times of the Mk2 1.4 I used the figures that I DO know which happen to be the Mk3. Purely for reference, thats all, as a way of illustrating my point. And for...
