It really boils my piss because it means I can't "make progress" down the A610 anymore. There's always a f**king jam sandwich or an unmarked parked up in a lay-by or on one of the bridges looking out for anyone who might be going to MFN.
50 meg broadband is f0r teh winz0rz.
What annoys me though, is that 5 minutes down the road in Nottingham, VM are already trialling 100 megabit connections.
Also, in response to those above who mentioned that their connection starts out slow and then gets quicker, there's a reason for...
I've been able to view Flash websites on my iPhone for ages using a similar principle.
I've simply published Internet Explorer from our Citrix XenApp server. I use the free Citrix receiver app to create a session to the presentation server and Bob's your uncle.
Although if I'm honest, it's...
MFN = s**te.
Because I live quite close to MFN, if I go anywhere in my car on Sunday afternoon I can guarantee there'll be some litle scrote in a Corsa or a Fiesta trying to race me.
a) There's no point, they'd lose.
b) The police know about MFN, so the whole of Ilkeston / Eastwood / Heanor /...
Welcome.
I was the same. I was obsessed with 106 GTi's and 306 GTi's until I got the Clio.
Don't get me wrong, the 106 and 306 both feel better to drive and IMO handle better, but I just fancied something different. I haven't looked back, the Clio's are just as special as the Pugs in their own...
I wasn't too fussed about overall storage space on the laptop. I have a Drobo with 3 x 1TB disks and 1 x 2TB disk in it so I've got over 3.5TB of available storage when I need it, plus redundancy should a drive fail. I was more bothered about performance, hence why I went for the solid state...
I agree, the glossy one does look way better in comparison. In the end, that's what I went for.
I decided to go to the Apple store at Meadowhall rather than just ordering one online without actually seeing the difference in the flesh.
In the end, I went for the following spec:
- 15" hi-res...
I can't really be of much use, except to tell you that taking the front bumper off is very easy. Fubar wrote a guide which I used the first time I ever did it. It's in the guides section somewhere.
Essentially it's just 4 bolts, 2 torx screws and a bit of a tug.
Re: The First Peac**k Meet of 2010
Me! Knowing my luck, I'd get caught without one and get bent over by Mr. Plod.
P.S. Know anybody who'll pass a car that doesn't have working washer jets and would fail on emissions 30 times over? :p
I'll be going for a 15" model. Plus I like to have everything as small as possible so I can fit more crap onto the screen at once. For me, higher resolution is worth it even if the actual screen size is the same.
Will be ordering an MBP today and wondered what peoples' opinions of the available screen options are?
I've seen the glossy and antiglare (matte) screens side by side and the glossy definitely looks a lot better. Blacks are much deeper and to me the glare didn't look too bad.
However, I've...
BUMP.
Out of interest, do you still get a student discount if you have a .sch.uk email address? Setting myself a .ac.uk email address up is no biggie, but I'd get a bigger discount as a student than I would by buying a new MBP through my employer.
All our "local" schools seem to have .sch.uk...
I remember reading an article somewhere when Hartge developed their first V10 E92. The engine bay looked the nuts (as do the ones above). IIRC they were looking at making a 620ps version (same V10 engine with a lot of work done to it).
One of our customers has a VERY old IBM 390 server which is doing two jobs - RADIUS server and Root CA.
It's running an ancient version of BSD (CLI only). Last time we looked, the total system uptime was over 9 years and in that time its network adapter had transferred just under 79 terabytes of...
It's using about half a litre every 2-3 weeks. I do roughly 150 miles a week on average. It doesn't seem to use any when driven gently, just when I'm on the boost all the time :o
Been using GTD Magnatec 5w40 the last 2 oil changes I've done because it's all the auto factors had in stock at the time.
So do you think the 300v will last longer in the car due to not breaking down as much? Obviously my engine gets very hot and seems to use quite a lot of oil when it's driven...
Which oil would you recommend the most for a low comp 172 turbo?
I've got some Motul 300v 5w40 to put in it when I do an oil change at the weekend but it's worth knowing for next time.
I need something that breaks down as little as possible at high temperatures because I seem to use quite a lot...
I'll come in my own car next time and show you exactly what LOUD means. :D
Was a decent day though. Shame it pissed it down when we first got there but other than that the weather wasn't too bad.
