Lol trust me if I had my way it would be built and running by now! But I want to do it properly.
Waterblock is installed on gpu, mobo and ram are in.
Ordered a different fan controller which turned up today, as well as some more 45 degree fittings. I underestimated how many I would need...
Jesus christ.. (check out this lamb).. This thread got me searching on eBay for some old consoles...there is a MEGA CD II on there for £149.99, boxed and I think my parents decided to through mine out a couple of years ago! :(
Swear they weren't that when they came out.Ma
n I loved Road...
As I cant walk or anything decided to do the D5 pump and for today I think im done. Might redo this at the PUMP end as I can't get the sleeving into the pump as it is literally tight up against the 3 wires. That involved desoldering the wires from within the pump and don't know if I want to do...
Haven't really had time to do much recently but I have damaged ligaments and a stress fracture in my ankle at the moment so of work and decided to crack on with some stuff.
SLEEVING. My god my fingers hurt! Forgot how much it hurts doing sleeving from my loom making days.
Anyway Fully sleeved...
Not gonna lie I almost thought about doing that myself.
Did anyone see my post about the AMD games coupon??
I seem to have 2 in my graphics card box and will use 1 of them so the other is spare
I have 2 amd gaming coupons with the new GPU.
I think I'll keep the never settle one as I can pick crysis 3, hitman, tomb raider and BioShock (I have sleeping dogs and far cry 3)
Does anyone want the radeon awards one at all?
http://www.amd4u.com/radeonrewards/
Far cry 3 has to be done by...
OH hi big fcuk off graphics card! :)
Took delivery of the GPU, PSU, some more fans, Vengeance RAM and some lighting today
Put everything onto the "Test Bench"
Lets see if it boots..
OH Fail :(
Although I have now "fixed" it. It seems it wants to boot an OS from startup and to...
Yeah im waiting for the 7990 to come tomorrow...I have a feeling its gonna be a big boy! Reservoir position I can't really make my mind up on at the minute.
Plan to whack it all together tomorrow and at least make sure everything works before fully building everything up. Just wish MDPC and...
Yeah is the XSPC "Crossflow" Rad. Liked the look/idea of it to try and stop untidy pipes. Il see how it goes!
CPU Block turned up today some chavvy UV led's :o . Apologies in advance for the slightly crap photo's.
The amount of space in this is unreal!
Mobo and top rad in
Roughly...
Rather then clog up the other thread thought id start a new build new and do everything in here and post up my progress (and failures probably!! :o)
Specs of the unit are
Case = Xigmatek Elysium
Motherboard = MSI Z77A-GD65
CPU = i5 3570K (will be overclocked to around 4.4 - 4.5 Ghz) with...
Oh hi...happy big boxes day to me!
:)
Elysium is huuuge! Also delivered were mobo, radiators, fittings, coolant, pump gpu block and CPU.
Scan have upgraded me to a Saturday delivery which means Il have 7990 and PSU theJust waiting for hoses and fittings from watercooling UK, and...
Yeah 7990. Sod it im getting one of those as well. I have a load of angled fittings and tubing coming from WC PC. They were cheaper and had the colour fittings I wanted in stock.
Can't decide on an "order" though. Most people go Res -> pump -> cpu -> radiator -> GPU -> radiator #2 -> res...
Right ive got about 2 hours to make my mind up what to do with my cooling options.
Currently have the idea of a 360mm Rad up the top to cool the CPU and GPU. Will this be enough? I could add another 240mm Rad in the front of the case but then unsure what "order" to pipe the loop in...and also...
Cheers yeah just unsure how many meters of need. Fcuk it il just order loads!
Final question....you t a bitspower filler cap into your system didnt you? Do the bitspower reservoirs have 2 "ins" at the top then?
Edit...yes just a screw on the GT's addicted. I took one apart yesterday
Gareth how much sleeving did you buy from mdfc (or whatever it was)
I have to the tools so just want to get all the sleeving and heatshrink but no idea how much to buy
Seems like I can use the backplate that comes with it..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXNQk0zFsVM (around 2mins10)
So should be alright with the SE
EDit
ps what compression fittings are you using here??
Right 7990 "waterblocks".
EK do one..
http://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc7990-se-nickel.html
But it doesnt mention anything about a "backplate". In fact I can't find anything out about backplates at all :S
Although in this thread
http://www.overclock.net/t/1431948/watercooling-help-on-amd-7990...
I just purchased the 7990 + PSU combo, 16gb of Vengence RAM and some SP120 fans from Scan :)
Still have a basket on OC with all the watercooling bits, Mobo etc..Just cannot decide on which case to go with Really want to go with the 750d but I fear a 360mm rad+ dual bay res (yes im going Bay...
Moi??
Mine whined like a Biatch and got sent back. Swapped for the Antec and never had a problem.
Appeared to be an issue with the Corsair gaming series range. In fact Corsair werent that confident in offering me one of the "same" they offered me one of their higher ranged full modular ones...
Was gonna go with a 1155 Socket with a 3570k overclocked. Z77 would meet my needs for a while I thought. Didn't see what I would gain putting an i7 in considering most games haven't utilized hyper threading as far as I was aware...therfore for now an i5 would suffice
I put games on my SSD....Skyrim and Fallout seemed to load a LOT quicker on that then on the PS3 I was used too. Although Crysis 2 was on my HDD and that seemed quick.
I think im sold on that 7990 and PSU combo. Too good a deal to pass on I think
2 Things im still unsure on is Mobo..
Cant...
Also I'm now in a debacle again after properly looking at the 750d case and watching some reviews.
My main concern is not not being able to fit a dual bay res in the front, fan controller and an optical drive (could go usb version)along with a 360mm rad in the roof.
I haven't fully checked but but scan don't do some of the bits that are in the ocuk basket. plus taking into accou free postage on ocuk It's cheaper then scan
Admitedly I was torn between the OCZ and the Antec...Have used the Antecs loads and been happy with them.
Yeah still stuck on the Elysium. The 2013 "updates" seem a bit better then when they first bought it out. I don't know why I just love the size of the thing. I have bought a desk JUST...
