Nah my point is if a 1.8 16v running 15-16 psi can make the same amount of power a 2.0 16v running the same psi then there is something not right maybe ?
I would expect the 2.0 16v that has 172 bhp to easily make more power than the 1.8 16v that makes 137bhp normally at the same psi ...
Well the only times I heard this go was on high mileage valvers but if the car has had a hard life them maybe this may go early possibly ?
But I also remember getting a curtosy car and that was a 1.2 16v, the gearstick moved a hell of alot on that but this had been thrashed to hell and back...
On the 1.8 16v Clio this was a Dogbone engine mount that went. I am not to sure if they still have this mount on the newer clios but its worth mentioning.
It bolts on from the underside of the car into the back of the gearbox and looks like ..... Well a Dogbone with 2 rubber inserts in it.
I have had both.
I would have the valver for pure roar driving.
I would have the 172 for power and comfort.
172 more to insure
16v can be expensive to run though if you get a bad one.
16v more "trick bits" available for the engines at the moment like cams etc.
Horses for...
Well I am gonna buy a Mk1 172 after the insurance is sorted on the 16v and I saw a 172 Mk1 at Donnington with these on and it set the car off nicely. I am not to sure though if I do go for these, firstly how much they are and also what size to go for 16" or 17".. I dont want the ride made harsh.
Yerr I would be more inclined to drop twin engines in. Even though the bike has a good hp rating you are gonna bog down through lack of torque initially.
Now drop that single engine into a Fiat 126 and boom, I pocket rocket.

4.5K is where the Torque curve is at its strongest as the cams are designed to work at there best at this rpm. This is normal and even the valver is the same, poor bottom end but loadsa mid range punch.
