You've got the head off and sump off, helix clutch going in.... It's crying out for some 225 pistons! You'd be daft not to put some in at this stage, or go hard and go forged!
With a bit of mechanical sympathy the gearbox's are fine up to about 350/320 which is about what most of the high boost ones make. Some people have the mid range mapped out to help the gearbox cope but that's just for the gays.
The helix 4 paddle is more than capable of coping with high boost...
I think the above comments say it all.
Andy helped me with mine as well. Built my engine in his workshop and helped me do the rest of the conversion.
I think it is into the 30's now that he has done. Turbo clios are like C20LET Corsas in thw North East :D
Wise words!
Also going down to their garage for them to show you that the timing is right, that's only going to prove that the timing is right now. It could have very easily been corrected if it has jumped.
See Andy as lots of people have said. Just yesterday he helped me reset my timing after...
Will u ask a question on clio sport for me......
My 182 05 reg has a strange issue. When I rev the car over 5500rpm the service and traction light comes on..... if I am stood still and rev the car to 5500 the lights also come on,
Turn the traction control off and it still does it...
If you know what you're doing and dont mind doing it slowly then IMO go for a high boost F4r. Do as you say and collect all the bits over time and then do the conversion in one go. That's of course if you dont mind spending more than £1500. Or low boost if you wanna keep the costs down.
Thats...
If you're over 25 and live in a decent area then insurance shouldn't be ridiculous. I only paid £606 this year and £650 the year before that. I'm only 27.
Recirc valves are no better or worse for the turbo than VTA (atmospheric) valves, but VTA's can effect the drivability of the car when pushing on. With a recirc the dumped air is forced back into the intake and not wasted like it is with a VTA.
If you like the noise then fit a noisey one, in...
The 7-9's will run 400/400 all day long with no problems at all as long as it's serviced properly. Mine made 416hp/396ftlb four years ago and has never missed a beat. It's had a couple of clutches but no worries engine wise at that power.
^^^^ Exactly. Bung the standard valve off so it's not used then go for a drive to see if it is still leaking. If the noise is still there then you know the valve isn't at fault, if the noise isn't there then fit yourself a chav valve.
