I went for an open day there to see that course, whats it like? what year you in? I am at cov uni now doing ethical hacking & network security in second year.
it seems your bios doesnt support USB boot up, that will be why your cd rom will not boot if it is attached via USB.
why can you boot to the cdrom when it doesnt even have an internal one! silly people.
well all i can suggest now is removing the drive, plugging it into usb of another computer...
if you have important stuff you need off the drive id suggest buying something like this:

comes in very handy from experience, crack the laptop open and get the drive out, then plug it into another computer through usb.
So the cdrom is attached via USB, is this what you have been setting in the bios? set to boot from usb first rather than cdrom then hard disk yes?
with the usb pen stick, you download that DOS installer through that link i posted. install it on your usb pen stick then boot from it and it will...
i mean booting from a usb pen stick. one of those little things everybody keeps on their car keys these days, can you select to boot from usb in the bios?

can you boot from USB? could try a linux distro or a simple dos:

dang it, i always thought I heard a high pitch wine while cruising on the motorway for a while, can you normally hear it more at high revs?

ive just cleaned the egr valve out tonight, looks brand new again, put it back on, car feels abit better, but still theres just a lack of torque, i just dont know whats causing it! its starting to feel like a petrol i just dont get it, its doing my f**king head in!!
good work lad, im gonna have to get the bonnet open on mine, its lost its kick and power it feels. had the remap done the other week, then put a cup splitter on the other day now it feels s**t! not sure if ive knocked something but it just feels dead slow to what it was last week!
^^ far from it, you have to check the processor specs ( caches etc) the stuff that matters the most.
it depends what your after in the laptop to which one you buy, my asus one I use for my degree and I need to dual boot xp and linux and it does the job superbly.
your choice mate, nice power increase you just need to have respect for it.
I know what you mean being under powered though, I was struggling to keep up with 1.2s in my dci but now its intercooled and mapped, my mates in there 1.6s are struggling to keep up with me!
