Agree with Brun my car takes no time at all to warm up and after changing the oil to 5w 40 fully synth I no longer get the nervousness that I used to have for the first mile. It is smooth from the start.
BRUN where can I get more Silkolene Pro 5w 40 as my car is coming up to 6,000 miles and I...
Took out a BMW 530i (old man trying to show off to young girlfriend), Audi S3, TT225 (neigbours cars) and my best race ever was with a Y reg Porsche Carrera on an excellent back road reaching silly speeds, he eventually turned off and waved. No winner but managed to stay with him which I...
Renewed yesterday from Direct Line: £880 including NC Protection, Fully Comp and kept on driveway. I am 26 with 4years NCD, no points, slightly cheaper than Tesco.
When I was hunting insurance some places still said they wouldnt insure me because I was too young. (Makes me feel good);)

CTR is an excellent small family car and doubles well as a hot hatch, I didnt need the extra weight or size so bought a 172 maybe later in life I will. Clios are in the super mini league and are not aimed at small families but young single people. Clios are then smaller, weigh less, good...
It was a close call when buying my 172 whether I should go for a CTR, there is still a little voice in the back of my head saying "why didnt I get the CTR" Well the CTR is slightly quicker, and has a higher top end but in all the magazines I am yet to see one beat a 172 on a track or on a 1/4...
NO - ONE!!
My girlfriend has driven it once around a car park and in an industrial estate, I insured her for 28 days, she drove it for less than 30mins. She floored it once by accident from 30 in 2nd and barely managed to keep the car from hitting the curbs with the torque steer.
I feared...

I have enjoyed speaking with you on this forum and hope that you do manage to show your face on here every now and again(metaphoricaly speaking).
I hope your world tour goes well and that , noticed you got rid of the car before its 6000mile oil change, ummmm?? lucky you. I will be going...
Daz is right a Scoobie with the prodrive kit, 0-60 4.5. Down side is very bad mpg figures. ;)
Audi S3 chipped, 265bhp, good build quality?
Personally I would like a Golf R32, apparently better than the new 250bhp TT.
I never said the 206GTI would be a good GTI, but it will be as quick as a 172 and until it is tested we wont know what the chasis is like, but if Peugeot learn from their WRC success it may well be a lot better than you give it credit for.
For 16 - 20K I would get 172 still and spend the...
They need to remove the entire bumper just to put a 1 inch plastic ball back in? I thought I would just buy the ball for pence and just push it back in myself.
If it wasnt done on warranty how much did people pay to get this fixed?
Agree with Eddd, parking in two spaces is selfish, the doors will be dented eventually anyway, or keyed like mine was when you are no where near any other cars. Usually I park a bit further away and hope that no one parks too close, and avoid nasty car parks when possible.
Very nice example, excellent wheels, what size and how much did you pay if you dont mind me asking? Gold drums may be better than red but look better than break dust black.
I like the CTR, I would have had one over my 172 if it came with more kit as standard. Aniversary edition is better. Also there is a rumour that the CTR is having a power increase to 230bhp as standard latter in the year.
CTRs are expensive, £17,000 with air con, dealers wont knock anything...
172 is faster than a cooper -s almost all magazines put down the clio 172 as being faster to 60/62 and 100 than the cooper -s. The cooper -s is just a better handling car. Cup should easily out pace a cooper-s in most situations in my opinion. However, I think in todays performance car world...
I love my car, and think it is great, reliability wise its not that bad.
My boss has had her BMW 316i for just over a year from new and it has broken down 3 times, twice today with different problems. German cars are not as good as they used to be, many of the JD power surveys show this, Jap...
Still love my car, well mannered below 5000rpm, a real beast above. Has all the toys I wanted, and good value for money. I do look at CTRs and leon Cupra Rs and think should I have bought one of those, then I clean and polish my car and go out for a blast and realise that this is the best value...
